My family and I are driving to WDW in May (can't wait!!) and are staying in a condo at Windsor Hills. Even though we will have our own car, I was wondering about the transportation to/from the parks from Windsor Hills. I know it exists and costs money, but what I don't know is if it runs on a schedule or is it something you have to arrange ahead of time. I just thought it would be nice to know in case some of us wanted to stay at the parks while the rest wanted to go back to the condo.

If anyone has any info about schedules and cost, I would really appreciate it!!

This is from a WH owner's website FAQs:

How does the Windsor Hills Resort daily shuttle service work/operate/etc?

In the sundry shop in the Windsor Hills Resort clubhouse you can find schedules and make arrangements. Shuttle cost is $10 per person round trip to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, or Animal Kingdom. $14 per person round trip to universal, seaworld, and shopping areas. There is an information sheet at the clubhouse with the time schedule. The shuttle company is MAINGATE TRANSPORTATION. They can be called at # 407-390-0000. A taxi cab to Disney is $20 one way.. cab to Universal is $32 one way.... Don't forget it costs $11 per day for parking at Disney and Universal if you drive, although you can come and go freely from various parks, it's pay just once per day for parking at all of the Disney parks.

Thanks for the info!! I just wondered if anyone on the boards had used it before and could tell me how reliable it is.

I haven't used it because we usually have our own car and like to be flexible with our plans, but the shuttle generally runs on a schedule.

The schedule depends on the time of year and may have one or two times for pick up in the morning and a couple of times towards the end of the park day. It does need to be booked in advance so you can make sure you have a spot.

We like to go home when the parks get too busy (we find its not fun when that happens!), so the shuttles do not work for us. We may go home and rest for a few hours before returning for evening entertainment. A shuttle won't allow that, but I am sure you could get a taxi. If you have younger children, I would recommend driving so that you can leave when they get tired or overstimulated. (That's not fun at the parks either! LOL!)
