I would say the transportation is much like the place itself, laidback, in other words not the best. There is a boat ride down to DTD. The buses run best first thing in the morning, during mid-day they get a little worse. I rate the bus service as poor to fair. The worse ride is to Animal Kingdom because it stops at a water park. I have been a member there for years and only use the bus to go to MK. Over the years I just had too many bad experiences with the buses to use them. Please note others will disagree with me. I personally don't like the idea of buses period and remember the times when the main mode of travel was the mono-rail, but those days are long gone.

We were at OKW 2 weeks ago and the transportation was great. We never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes for a bus so we thought that was awesome.

understood... we will have a car as we're florida residents... it's just that my dh is legally blind and i never get a chance to go out and have a few drinks without worrying about driving... so i'll try to drive to parks and ride to extras! thanks!

There Feb/ March it was good.

PA always thinks the OKW buses are slow, but honestly, we have not had bad bus service at OKW for years. We just got back last week from a trip where bus service was fantastic, and we never waited more than a couple minutes any direction except for the time we just missed the bus. Then we had to wait about 10 minutes for the next one. I always figure I am on vacation, and buses are no big deal. In fact , we kind of like the buses.

There is no WDW bus transportation from resort to resort. You will have to take a bus to one of the "hubs" - then take a bus from there to your desired resort. It can take a while... Just FYI.

But from OKW, you can take a boat to Saratoga Springs, or to Downtown Disney.

We were there last November and we had no problem with the buses at OKW. We were in bldg 35, right next to a bus stop. Although that time of year is one of the slowest. So I guess the buses move quicker. With less traffic, less boarding and unboarding. Your best bet to go to another resort would be to take the boat to DTD and you can get anywhere from there.

Lowie, take the boat or the bus to DTD for your "extras". We love DTD. Our favorite restaurant there is Fulton's Crab house. House of blues and Wofgang pucks is also good. They have a comedy club there that is so much fun! You can have all your "extras" without having to drive :thumbsup2

We got married at the Poly last June. We had dinner at Fulton's. it was great. Later in the week we went to Captain Jack's. CJ's has become our favorite now. I can't wait to get back there. Also can't wait to stop by Raglan Road

We were at OKW the beginning of the month. We only took the bus to MK. We missed one bus and about 10 minutes later a second came. We saw a lot of other buses come by (2 epcot, 1 DTD/Typhoon Lagoon, 1 mgm, & 1 AK).

The morning wait seems short! It is the evening wait that seems sooooooo long! It must be those tired feet & whiny kids that make the wait excrutiating!! ;)

We've taken the buses on other trips and have never had an issue. We've also taken the boat to DTD -- what a nice leisurely ride!

Enjoy your trip!!

P.S. We don't own at OKW, but my DH won't go anywhere else!!

In 5 trips to WDW in 2 years. Only once that I can remember did we wait more than 10 minutes for a bus, well maybe twice. And only a few times do i remember having to stand up for the ride. That's not bad being that we've taken lots of buses

it use to be pretty bad - but that changed years ago. now it is pretty good.

the most you should wait is 20 minutes - but often times it is only 10 minutes or less.

now this seems to depend upon the number of wheelchairs that have to be loaded and uploaded - this takes time.

with the new buses I just make mother get on and then the bus driver or a nice other guest will help me take up the wheelchair.

that saves everyone a bunch of time. but on the older buses - I can't possible take the wheelchair up those steps without help.... so if you want the lines to move faster be prepared to help those people who can walk a little bit by helping with the wheelchairs instead of complainting about how long the buses are taking......

I've helped out.
