Transportation to/from MCO?

In the past we have always used ME for our transportation to and from MCO. But we will be visiting other parks and decided to stay at another Orlando resort. I am only aware of Mears (although, I have seen some others mention, but I can't seem to find them)Airport Transportation company.

I have seen a few reviews of their shuttle service. However, I would like some info/reviews/experiences of the luxury car/town car service only, please.

And because I am not familiar with other companies, I would really appreciate car service reviews/suggestions of OTHER companies and why you would recommend them.

I would appreciate any help and info. :)

I apologize if this has been asked numerous times, if anyone can provide a link to the others with the same topic, I would appreciate it. I have used the search section and it was not very helpful.

Thank you. :)

I don't recall reading any reviews of Mears towncar service. It's more expensive then other companies ($141 + tip vs $100-$110 +tip). I don't think Mears offers a complimentary grocery stop.

FL Tours, Tiffany, Happy Limo and Murray Hill Transportation tend to get good reviews.

It sounds like you won't be staying at a WDW resort and that you'll be visiting non-Disny parks.

Renting a car is a superior option. Off-site shuttles are very limited.

No review, but www . mearstransportation . com if you want their information on themselves ;) Remove spaces, of course.

Thanks for the suggestions. Do you happen to know if there are any opinions on those? I do recall reading about Tiffany and Happy Limo, but I don't recall if they liked it or not.

I would like to rent a car, however, we will not be needing it since we are staying within walking distance to the parks and they have parking fees which I would prefer not to pay if we are not using the cars.

Thanks.:)

Thank you. I have checked out their website, but I'd like to get some feedback about people's experience with them. We have not used their service before. For us, it was either ME or before that, we rented a car.

This time we don't need a car since we are walking distance from the parks and so was wondering about the car service to/from the airport.

I used www.happylimo.com when we went last April/May. We had a great experience. 2 adults and 1 child. We reserved a stretch Lincoln and were very happy with the service. The driver was waiting at baggage claim with a sign with my son's name on it and Happy Birthday. He helped us with our bags and we took the elevator downstairs, loaded the luggage, took our picture and we were on our way. The car was very clean and driver very professional. Had a movie and beverages waiting in the limo for us. I am sure a town car would give you the exact same service. For our return trip to the airport they upgraded us at no additional cost to a Lincoln stretch Navigator SUV. DS12 thought that was very cool and again had a great experience and driver was wonderful. www.mousesavers.com will give you a discount code for booking round trip service with them.

Sounds great! Thanks for the review. I'll definitely keep them in mind. I'm glad to hear you had a great experience with them.:thumbsup2

The vast majority of car services you see mentioned here are all good ones. There are no companies, not one single one, that has a 100% satisfaction record. They all have had less than wonderful reviews at some point.
There are several we are not allowed to talk about on this board. Do they provide bad service? No, not necessarily. They were banned due to posting guideline violations. Mentioning that before anyone brings it up.
I have used several companies...Tiffany, FL Tours, with good results. Were they perfect? No. I did have one trip with TT that was as close to perfect as you can get. But, that was back in '99 and that driver is no longer with them.

If you see companies mentioned here, or on other sites, they are probably going to give you pretty decent service.

Where are you staying and what parks will you be visiting? One suggestion is a one way car rental, with a drop off near your hotel.

There have been very few recent complaints concerning any of the popular car services. I suspect most of the complaints occurred when a car service is booked at subs out the fare to a driver they don't normally use. I understand business is down so I suspect fewer trips get farmed out.

Sounds good! Thanks. :thumbsup2

By the way, why are some companies not allowed to be mentioned. Sorry, Im not trying to get you to violate the rules, I am just wondering what happened and why they would not be allowed to be mentioned. If you cannot discuss it, thats okay...just curious.

We are planning to stay onsite at the Universal Orlando Resorts (RPR or PBH). They do not have a shuttle service similar to ME. We have no plans on leaving the property during our stay...just to the US and IOA. Plus, I do not want to pay the parking fees for the resort.

Also, we are looking at staying at one of the resorts across the street from SeaWorld and just planning on walking to Sea World and Aquatica.

It does sound like the more well known car service companies are fine. I am just a little nervous since it is our first time using this service. Its great to hear from others who have had experience with them.

Thanks.

As I said in my post, they were banned for posting against board guidelines...pure and simple. Nothing to do with bad service.
I wonder...if I violate the rules, do I then give myself points??? Food for thought.

Hertz has a desk in the Universal hotels. You can price a one way rental.

I think if we didn't have to take a shuttle to the offsite Hertz location, it would be an option. To be honest, I was quite surprised to find out that the location was not in the airport.

And the last time I checked it was about $50-$60 for one way for one day including the fees. And Mears car service is around that much and we don't have to worry about getting the car, driving, and then returning it. We don't need a grocery stop or anything, so we were gearing towards the car service.
