We are scheduled for a 7:30 breakfast at cape may on the day we are going to Epcot. (Epcot opens at 9). What are our options for transportation. We do not really want to take a cab, and we will have our own vehicle. Would it be possible to ride the monorail that early to epcot and then catch a bus from epcot to Cape May and then a bus back? We just want to make sure that we can get to Epcot in time for rope drop after our breakfast. If we were to get a cab to Cape May, how would we get to Epcot for rope drop? :confused3

There are no buses from Epcot to the Beach Club. You would have to drive to Beach Club & then after breakfast walk to the World Showcase entrance but I don't think the Beach Club will let you park that long in their parking lot. My suggestions is a taxi I know you don't want to but... Maybe someone else will be more helpful.

Why can't you drive to Cape May for breakfast, eat, then drive to the Epcot parking lot? You may not get there before rope drop, but I'm guessing this will be your quickest way to get into Epcot. Why don't you ask the valet at Beach Club how long you can park your car at the Beach Club. My guess is you only have 2 or 3 hours of parking with your breakfast.

If you take a cab to Cape May, then all you need to do is enter Epcot at the International Gateway located between France & Great Britan. Then when the park closes you can take the bus or monorail back to your resort.

Not sure if this will work @ BC.

This past May, we had bk @ OHanna's @ Poly. They told us if the Valet the car (forgot the cost), we could then hop on the monorail and leave the car there the whole day. I told the valet that I never hear of this. He said that most didn't know this.

The next day, we had bk @ 1900 Park Fare @ GF. And that valet told us the same thing.

Don't know if it's just for the monorail resort (that was just our experience). I think it may be the same there. And the cost is probably about the same as cost of parking @ the park.

If you rode the monorail that early to EPCOT, you still won't get over to Cape May for breakfast b/c you'd have to be able to cut through the park to get to the Beach Club and the park doesn't open until 9. Also, I am not certain exactly how early the monorail starts to run. I would think driving to the beach club would work best, or take the taxi and then use disney transportation to get back. Depending on where you are staying, the price for a taxi may not be that bad. Are you hoping to get to rope drop just to join the cattle rush to Soarin'? If so, entering through the international gateway isn't a bad thing for this, and thus walking from the beach club to epcot will be easy. This is probably best done if you are dropped off at BC by a taxi.

Does the international gateway open at rope drop? If so, how long does it take to walk from there to soarin or test track? Just want to make sure that we can get to those rides without having to wait in long lines because the people at the regular entrance got there quicker.

It is a very short walk from Beach Club to Epcot via the International Gateway.

My experience is that they time it pretty well so that your arrival time to Soarin will be the same as those getting in through the front gate. It sometimes depends on how quickly the CM moves the crowd, but there really is no significant delay from the "back" entrance.

You walk to International Gateway. The Worldcase will be closed but there's rope off section so you may walk to the Future World.

We used this walkway when we stayed at YC. It was very convenient. There's also a Friendship boat launch you can catch but it is faster to walk than wait for a slow boat.

By the way, there is also a boat launch to DHS form BC & YC. Just in case you want to DHS. Best part of that ride is we didn't need to close our stroller (great for a sleeping child). Just 2 cents of info.

We may just take a taxi then if there's no major difference in entering thru international gateway or the regular entrance. If we take a taxi there, then we can just hop on the monorail to get back to our resort. Our main concern with the taxi was not the price, but we don't feel completely comfortable riding with DH (2) not in a carseat. DH won't even ride down driveway without him buckled in. This is something he is pretty anal about, so dunno if he will agree to a taxi or not. Thanks for everyone's responses!

2nd this suggestion. I think this is the best bet.

I would also say to drive. However maybe you can also think about walking to the Magic Kingdom bus station from the Contemporary very early in the morning and wait for the bus that goes to the Beach Club.

Anyone know what time we would need to be out there by in order to catch a bus to the Beach Club? Is is the TTC you are referring to or in front of the entrance where buses pick up and drop off?

Actually I am referring to the bus station at the Magic Kingdom, which is where the Disney Transport buses would be coming from the various Resorts. Since your staying at the Contemporary you could be able to walk there. As for a time I would say get there before 6:15 AM, because I believe that is when the buses start running each morning.

It's a 10 minute car ride, so if you have your cab by 7:15, you should be fine.
