We always use Fernando Ruiz at Performance Travel 714-453-7908. It's a company that him and his brother (Rafael) own together.
We've used them exclusively for the last two years or so (so probably 20 trips or so) and they are always on time. What's nice about using a car service rather than a cab is that 1) you don't have to worry about traffic jams running up the meter and 2) they always do a water/beer run for us prior to picking us up, so we don't have to stop on the way to the hotel or find alternate ways of getting our "supplies".
You may want to give them a call to find out their rates from Long Beach (or I can call them for you if you want. We use them so much that he has my number programmed into his phone and recognizes it when I call, haha)
