We will be travelling from Buf airport instead of Pearson this trip because of the huge difference in fares. Has anyone taken airport transportation from the Kitchener area to BUF? If not, any suggestions on how I can arrange this and what it may cost.

Hi, from the kitchener area, no, im not sure what transport u could take. Im in Niagara, and take either Niagara airbus or 5-0 transportion. You could check their websites and see if they go to kitchener. Or you could consider driving to Niagara, then taking an airbus from here. If you need any help let me know.

Hi maryann! We're seriously thinking of flying out of Buffalo too next March/April and would love to hear more about transportation to the airport instead of taking our van and leaving it at the hotel the night before we fly out. And we're in Hamilton. Any info would be appreciated!;)

I drove and it is very simple. The parking lot is right at the airport and the shuttles are every 5 minutes or so. Check in (pre 9/11) was at the curb and there was no immigration to pass through. So from Hamilton you are talking 1.5 hours door to door and you certainly do not need to arrive 2 hours early.

I am over the Niagara Border crossing and it is always a snap. There is no need to stay over night.

Am going at the end of April and leave at 8:00 am. Expect to be at the Airport at 7:00-7:15....

I'd drive and leave the car. I think it was $30/week.

Thanks for your information emmalgin.:)

We are still tossing all of our options around but loooking at leaving from Toronto is just ridiculous as we are getting taxed to death here and Buffalo is looking more and more inviting.

We're not too sure if we want to leave our van for 3 possibly 4 weeks in a parking lot as DS drives and will not be going with us. Can you elaborate more on what curbside check-in is please? Also $30.00 per week for leaving your car.....is that US funds? Thanks for all of your help.:)

OMG! Another person from Kitchener, wow.. it's a small world. :)

Yeah, i'm from Kitchener, and am planning to go the last week of August. I was reviewing the flight prices for Pierson compared to Buffalo and I was astonished to see the price difference.. it's outrageous.

I have found that the easiest way to get to Buffalo is by Greyhound Bus.

I'm meeting my girlfriend in Toronto, and from there we're leaving for Buffalo, which is a 2 and 1/2 hour to 3 hour trip. It costs us $33.00 Canadian with College/University student discount for a Round Trip.

From there we'll take a Taxi or City Bus to the airport. (The City Bus [24 Genesee] seems to go down directly past the airport, but i'm uncertain of how much it costs)

For ticket prices and times to go from Kitchener to Buffalo, go to www.greyhound.ca

All in all, I hope i've been some help, and i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one not impressed with Toronto's prices for flights.

Good Luck to you, and happy vacationing,
Andy!

$30/us for 1 week. I think the airport has a website and you can check prices for longer term parking from there.

Curbside cahck in meant we showed our e-ticket and we did not go to any counter. As for the Airport it is small (compared to Pearson and not much choice for food so gate was nearby.

Wish I had 3-4 weeks to travel.... Then I'd be driving down.....

Thanks for your reply!:)

LOL I'm still trying to talk DH into driving down but he keeps saying that he doesn't want to waste any of his vacation time driving down, but he did say that he'd like to drive down once he retires (which is still a ways away).

I've been weighing the pros and cons of driving and thinking about all the money that we'd save too!;) Hey you never know what we'll end up doing yet as we still have a until next March to plan! Thanks again!:)
