Hi all!
We are thinking of going to Vero soon for our first trip as a DVC memeber. I am just wondering what the best way would be to get to Vero. Do they have a bus? Should we rent a car? Do we need a car when we are there? Let me know what you all think. Thanks!

There is no buss service to Vero. You will likely need to rent a car to get there. We do leave the resort for a couple of dinners while there. So we like to have a car available. You don't have to. But depending on how many days you are staying you might get tired of eating at the resort restaurant.

Vero is about a 90 minute drive from the Orlando (MCO) airport and about 2 hours from WDW. It is fairly "self-contained" and IMHO, somewhat isolated from everything else if you do not have a car.

I agree with eva - rent a car unless you know for sure you will be happy spendng the entire time at the resort. If you plan to spend more than 3 days there, I strongly recommend a car. FWIW, I think you find that the transfer services (Mears, private towncar services) prices are comparable to renting a car.

Enjoy your trip! Vero Beach is a beautiful resort and a great add on to a WDW vacation!
