Hello, for some complicated reasons during our trip in June, we will be switching from our onsite Disney hotel POR to the offsite Holiday Inn just outside Disney and spitting the stay, 4 nights at POR and 3 nights at HI, and I was wondering a couple of things as a on-site disney vet who doesn't know what they are doing offsite!!??!

When I transfer hotels (I will not have a car!) what is the best way to get from the POR when we check out to the HI? Taxi? Do I call for one from Disney?
When we visit the Disney parks from the HI, can I rely on the hotel shuttle, should I call a cab, etc? Any advice on this? Also, when we go from the HI to the Orlando airport, is there an airport shuttle that is reliable, or should I taxi it?

Thanks for all the advice and help I can get, I am travelling alone with my two kids so I just want to be as prepared as possible. Thanks! :wave2:

get a taxis - just make sure that you have seem all the WDW parks you want before you go off site.

off site it is hard to get around without a car. (not impossible - just hard).

the same shuttle service that does WDW can also do Kissimmee/LBV - so that is not a problem - just tell them to pick you up at a different place. (expect to pay more - Kissimmee is further from the airport - so transportation costs are higher).

which Holiday Inn - there are several?

I think I am going to stay at the Staybridge Inn or another HOliday Inn chain near there, I don't know which one yet (I have holiday Inn points for a couple nights of free rooms, that is why I am limited to HI and their chains) but I am still shopping around for availablility. I am looking at one close to WDW, I am just concerned about how often the shuttles to and from the parks run, even though they say "complimentary" and also want to make sure I can get to the airport OK. Thanks! :wave2:

There's a Holiday Inn on Hotel Boulevard (DTD hotels). They have regular shuttle service--I think every half hour or so--and would be your best bet for convenience.

www.nickhotel.com is part of the Holiday Inn family. It should be completed by the time you get there and they have shuttles to the parks. I was going to stay there this month, but changed my mind because the construction isn't done yet.
