Transportation off Property

We would love to do some shopping at the Disney outlet store. I have heard that it is possible to take a bus near DTD off property. Does anyone know about this? About how much does it cost and how convenient is it? I'm not sure if we want the hassle of renting a car for a day just for several hours of shopping. Also, where would we rent a car from on property and how much would it be to rent a car for less than one day?

This outlet mall is the smallest of the three in the Orlando area but it does have a Disney outlet store. This is not the same mall as the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall which is also in Lake Buena Vista. The latter is the closest of the three outlet malls to Disney but does not have a shuttle that I'm aware of. You'd have to take a taxi.
