Transportation in So. Cal?

Hi all!

This is our first trip to Cali. and I did make a reservation for a car rental. Is there transportation to other parks. I am a single mom with 2 DS ages 7 and almost 10. We are staying at the Paradise Pier Hotel. We have the Southern California pass. We will be going to Universal, Seaworld and San Diego Zoo. Does Disney offer transportation to any of these places? I am trying to keep my costs down.

They do not offer free transportation, but you can find day trips through various companies. The downside of doing a day trip through them is that you have to follow their schedules. Since you'll already be paying for a rental, I'd recommend driving yourself. The only exception might be if the cost of the day trip is not much more than paying for admission and parking. In that case it might just be convenient to let someone else drive you, but again, if it were me and I had rented a car already, I'd just drive to have more control over the itinerary.

I'm not sure about buses going down to San Diego, probably driving would be much easier. But you could maybe take the Metro train(red line) to Universal. $1.50 one way, or $6 for a one day pass..not bad!

Keep in mind that as far as traffic is concerned, the general pattern is that people live in Orange County and work in LA, so going to Universal you'll be going with traffic. I personally would wait until about 9:30 or 10:00 to leave to Universal, and then wait until after 7:00 to come back. San Diego shouldn't be a problem.

Try grayline tours they have transportation to all the big places in SoCal... Plus they pick up at your hotel.
