Transportation help needed

I need some help with transportation from Pop Century. I don't drive and would like to get to a supermarket to buy some groceries for my stay. Is there to get to a supermarket or even some restaurants off Disney property without a car?

How much would a cab cost from downtown Disney to a supermarket or a restaurant. Are there restaurants in downtown Disney that are cheaper than the ones on Disney property. I have a trip planned for July for 2 adults and 1 child age 6. We are on a tight budget, especially food wise so I would like to be able to buy breakfast items and lunch items to make sandwiches etc. Is that possible. Are there any supermarkets within walking distance of Pop Century or downtown Disney?

I heard that there is a McDonald's near All Star, is there anything near Pop Century?

Any info will help me plan. Thank you

Take a cab. It shouldn't cost all that much from Downtown Disney to Goodings, or even Winn Dixie about a mile further away.
Earl of Sandwich is relatively cheap, but everything at Downtown Disney is on Disney property. So is that McDonald's, and even if you were staying at the All Stars it's not safe to walk to.
The food at Everything Pop is reasonably priced as well, and you can probably split two meals among three people.
Why not bring breakfast and lunch foods with you? That's even cheaper, and milk and some other perishables can be purchased at Everything Pop - either the store or the food court. Sure, it might be more expensive than a supermarket, but not THAT much more expensive, plus you'd save money on the cab.

There are also grocery delivery services you could use....gardengrocer.com and netgrocer.com. I know a lot of us used wegoshop.com in the past but they had some issues in the fall, and I can't say for sure if those issues have been fixed. Yes, there are delivery fees of about $10-15, but it's nice to be able to order exactly what you want and have it delivered right to your resort room.
