Transportation from Wilderness Lodge to Animal Kingdom Lodge

Was just wondering what the quickest way would be to get from WL to AKL. We have reservations on 5/8 at Boma at 7:35 am, and we're afraid we won't be able to take advantage of the shuttle service because it's too early. Any pointers?

Most resort-to-resort transfers, including the one you are asking about, require getting from the first resort to a park (or to DTD) and transferring to another form of transportation to the second resort there. Early in the morning there will be buses running from WL to the parks, but your problem will be that there aren't typically buses running from the parks to the resorts. It's possible, but very unlikely, that you could boat to MK or take a bus to AK, then get lucky enough to find a driver who just happened to be going to AKL to pick up guests.

I think your best bet is going to be grabbing a cab from WL as that is guaranteed and will be much quicker anyway.

Agree with Jestocost. A Taxi is the way to go at that time of day. If you choose to return to WL after your meal instead of going someplace else I'd either take the AK bus and transfer there back to the WL bus or play bus lotto and take whatever bus comes first (with exception to DTD) for a transfer.

Absolutely take a cab. Otherwise you are going to just worry about it.
I think that's what I would do, even though I'm very familier with both the transportation system as well as the resorts. It's just not enough time to do what needs to be done that early in the morning.
Normally, I would recommend heading to MK and then hopping on the bus to AKL but that isn't going to work that early...no telling when the AKL bus might come along.

We stayed at WL 2 weeks ago and had similar reservations at AKL - Boma, ours were 7:40PM. My wife and I wanted to get to AKL early to spend time animal watching so we left WL 5:45PM on bus to the MK, 5 minute ride then switched to AKL bus, waited about 5 minutes then about 20 minutes to the Lodge for a total time of 30 minutes! Very easy and from the MK my wife and I and one other family were the only people on the bus. Try it.

The OP's reservation is for 7:35AM. I would also suggest a cab that early in the morning.

There should be no problem getting from DAK to AKL at that hour. The dispatcher will send a bus if he sees guests waiting in the load zone.

But I'm not sure what time the first bus leaves WL for DAK. It could be too late to make the reservation.

If you like, you can check with the WL concierge or call 407-WDW-RIDE to find out the approximate time for the first bus. If you do the take DAK bus, mention to the driver that you have a breakfast reservation at Boma; he/she may offer to drop you off there.
