We are staying at Wilderness Lodge but we are wanting to visit Universal Studios/Island of Adventure. I am not renting a car and was needing to know what other forms of transportation I could use or is available.
Thanks in advance,

Last year, we saw a Mears shuttle bus at our resort that was taking guests to Universal Studios.

Basically, you have three options:

1.) Mears has scheduled shuttle service.

2.) Call a cab.

3.) Use a town car service. Not the least expensive option, but what I'm comfortable with. My personal choice is www.sunraytransportation.com

Cheers!

Mears service is "reserved" scheduled.

They have a schedule they go by, but you have to reserve it.

The way to do this is from your room phone or "any" WDW house phone dial "0". (The afternoon/evening before you wish to go to Universal/IOA/Sea World)

When you reach the Disney operator ask to be connected to Mears.

When Mears comes on, tell them you where you wish to go, what resort you are staying at and approximately what time you wish to go.

The operator will give you a pickup time/location and a confirmation number.

About 10 minutes before your pickup time report to the designated location.

The charge for round trip to Universal/IOA or Sea World is $14.00 per person payable to the driver in cash.

(If you know in advance you want to go to one of the offsite parks, stop by the Mears desk at the airport when you arrive before going to the Magical Express desk and you can purchase your transfers with a credit card. They won't have a specific date on them, and you will still have to reserve the night before).

When you arrive at the park you can reserve a pick up time with the driver then, or you can call the phone # they give you on your cell phone 2 hours before you wish to leave, and they will give you a pickup time to go back to your Disney resort.

If you have 4 or more people, most towncar services are less $$ than Mears to go to the offsite theme parks.

Another option would be to rent a car for 1 day from national or alamo at the car care center or at the Dolphin. That would give you the freedom to do other things on that day like go to the outlet malls. I'm doing that for 3 days in the middle of my trip to go to universal.
