Transportation from the hotels to the parks

We are thinking about staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, and I was wondering how often the buses come by to take you to the various parks. Also, how long is the ride from AKL to Magic Kingdom and Epcot?

I just returned Friday from an Animal Kingdom stay. I know there are different opinions but I did not find any of the waits very long at all. The longest rides are to Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney. One positive is that the bus departs AK and goes directly to it's destination; no stops in between. I was surprised on one trip from a park - I think it was MK but I'm not positive - we did make a stop at Blizzard Beach, bit all other rides were directly from the park to the resort. We stayed at the new location - Kidana Village. The Bus picks up there first, and then picks up at the "original" lodge- Jambo I think it's called.

Ooooh, it's good to know that for the most part, it's a direct ride. How long would you say it took to get to the various parks? Do buses come by every 15 minutes? 30 minutes?

From ANIMAL KINGDOM LODGE to....

Magic Kingdom: 12 miles took us 20 mins Think they stopped at Blizzard Beach first then onto MK

Epcot: 8 miles about 12 mins

Disney MGM Studios: 6 miles About 10 mins

Animal Kingdom: 2 miles about 5-7 mins

The on-board announcements state that buses run approximately every 20 minutes. We stayed at AKL in February and we never waited more than 6 minutes for any bus to or from a park. The bus system at WDW is very efficient and waits of more than 20 minutes are rare.

MK & DTD are the furthest distance from AKL so the rides there will be the longest, about 20 to MK and 25 to DTD. Epcot & HS take about 15 minutes

The HS bus will stop at BB both ways, during BB operating hours.

Buses going to DTD stop at Jambo before Kidani. All other buses stop at Kidani first.
