Transportation from Sanford Airport?

We are flying into Sanford and landing at 9:45. It looks like all of the car rental places are closing before that! Hertz website said they have after hours arrivals. How does that work?

Does anyone have any experience flying into Sanford? Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. I was told to go online the day before and fill out the information and then go directly to the lot and pick up the car, then give the guard the paperwork.

I'm flying in to Sanford at 9:20 p.m. I called Alamo/National and they said they stay open late on the nights that flights arrive late so I will be able to pick up my rental car. I'd give whichever agency you want to use a call and see if they tell you the same thing.

Going back a bit now, but in 1997 we suffered an 8 hour delay due to a baggage truck colliding with our plane just prior to take off and therefore we landed at Sanford in a replacement plane at 00:15 Hours.

Due to the fact that they knew we were still coming they kept a skeleton staff on duty in the car hire depots and the guy on passport control/ Immigration had been called away from a party to come into work and with a big grin on his face as he admitted us into the US told us he "was 3 sheets to the wind because he had been partying!"

Message really is don't panic because if you have given your flight arrival times to the car hire company then they will be expecting you and will therefore have a contingency plan for you to collect your car.
