Transportation from Long Beach Airport

I have flown into LGB five times and taken a cab. There were always plenty waiting including larger vehicles when we had 6 people. In May I have a SUV service, Jag Transportation, scheduled because I am going with two 3 year olds who need full car seats. Jag costs about twice as much as a cab which I think was $45 plus tip.

Depending on the number of people you can make a deal when you get there. I walked out of the airport, across the "street" to the car park area and just asked how much to take 8 people to the hotel. I believe we paid $60 once and $50 last time.

In the past, we've always done a taxi. Next trip, I'm doing Lyft. If you fly JetBlue, you can get points on your frequent flyer card when you use Lyft.

We've always used Super Shuttle on our trips. I can always find a discount code if I google for one that shaves a little bit off of the price. I usually pay between $60 to $70 total round trip for two of us.

Does the airport now allow uber/lyft to pick up curbside? Last time I used it I had to go off the property.

I would have used Uber on my last trip, but the app said it would take 50 minutes for someone to get there. We used a taxi from the line of taxis at the taxi stand instead. Just make sure the taxi driver knows you want the flat rate fare of $45. Otherwise they will run the meter and even with light traffic you may end up with a $70 fare.

I've used Lyft several times, most of which were when it was just my daughter and me. I've heard they have been background checks than Uber.

I will be traveling with my wife and children. How safe is Lyft?
I prefer taxi...
Here's a link to LGB ground transportation
http://www.lgb.org/travelers/transit.asp
Scroll down and it has taxi rates to include flat rate.

Before my trip I print off LGB's ground transportation page showing the flat rate info.
I also print out the name and address of where I'm staying at DLR.

At the LGB taxi stand I tell the director I want a flat rate to DLR.
I re-confirm flat rate with the driver and show them the destination name and address.
I do this because at times I have difficulty hearing and understanding the driver.
Having it printed out reassures me I'll get to the right place.

It takes about 30 to 40 minutes to get to DLR.
