My family has used LAX & John Wayne airports before. This time around we're going to fly into Long Beach. We're traveling with a 2 year old and 4 year old, so we'll have a car seat and stroller with us plus a couple of luggages.

Any advice on what transportation to use? We've done the shuttle thing twice [not very good experiences due to their punctuality] and are looking into using a taxi [is there any other options?]. How much would it cost? [We are staying at Fairfield Inn].

I know it's too late for the airport since we've booked but anything to know about it? [i.e. airport experience...I heard it's a smaller, quaintier airport?]

Thanks in advance!

Some people swear by the Long Beach airport, that it's very quick, and easy to get in and out of because it's so small. I think you made a good choice. :thumbsup2

We were initially set up to take the shuttle out of John Wayne, but when I had to reschedule the trip, we opted to get a rental car. We wound up using the car only once (other than trips to/from the airport), so that was a bit of a waste of money. We are thinking we'll get a taxi next time. Apparently it's the most cost effective option if you have 3/more people in your party.

I think there's some info on different transportation options in the **IMPORTANT: Read this** sticky at the top. Might be worth checking out!

Depending on the lenght of your trip, a rental car might be a good option. For a 3-4 day (weekend) trip you can get a car from Alamo for $35-50. If you are a costco member look for discounts codes from them, and get the costco rate. Our upcoming trip is 6 days and the car is going to run us about $90, Which isnt that much more then what a shuttle would run us roundtrip.

The drive from Long Beach is easy. The road in front of the airport is Wardlow. It becomes Ball, which borders the back of Disneyland. Ball and Harbor intersect. Your hotel would just be down a couple of blocks.

Thank you both!!

I'm in [near] Seattle too! Lynnwood to be exact!

Will check out the stickies and will talk about rental possibilities with Hubby!

We will be renting a car for our 5 day trip in May from Long Beach through Costco total cost is $63.00 It came out cheaper for us than a shuttle or Taxi.

I am near Seattle too in Marysville :goodvibes
