Transportation from JW Marriott

Hey all - We are joining DH, who is conventioning at the JW in march, and while we really don't want to rent a car, I can't seem to find any info on how much the cabs might run from this location to WDW. It doesn't seem, on the map, to be that much further that some of the onsite commutes we've had, but it's hard to tell. Does anyone have any past experience they can share?

I'm figuring that with hotel parking, park parking and rental, a car is going to run us no less than $60-70/day (and maybe up to $100), so just wondering if cabs will be much worse than that?

Wouldn't the hotel parking and rental car expense be picked up by DH's company?

Taxi from the JW Marriott to the Magic Kingdom would be about $30 plus tip each way.

Does either the hotel or the convention offer shuttle buses?

Maynards99--I can't speak for the OP but some people attending conventions are owners or independent contractors paying their own way. A business might pay for a car service to transport convention attendees from the airport to the hotel. No need for a car if the meetings are at the hotel convention center.

Correct. The company will cover his airport transport, but they won't be leaving the hotel. And, we are coming in on the tail end of his trip anyway, so his conference will be over before we'd be done with the car.
Thanks for the tip...at $35/40 ea way, it's a bit of a toss-up...what about to HS and Epcot, do you think?

First of all, the JW Marriott is a GREAT property. You'll love it.

They have transportation at the resort as well, not sure what it runs but it may be worth calling them and asking what it costs for their transportation, and a cab, because I'll bet they have a flat rate with the cab companies.

We are staying at the JW Marriott for a dance competition and heard from another family that there is a shuttle that goes to Epcot and then you can take Disney transportation to the other locations. Again, dont quote me on this.
