Transportation from DTD hotels?

If staying at one of the DTD hotels without a rental car, how would you get to Blizzard Beach or to a Disney resort for dinner?

Just curious since there is such a good rate for the Hotel Royal Plaza right now through Mousesavers ($69). Considering getting 2 rooms there & no rental car as opposed to HIFS with rental car.

You can use the hotel bus system or walk over to DTD an catch a bus to transfer to your destination, you will get some better ideas by posting this on the transportation board.

The DTD Hotel Buses will take you to the Parks or to DTD. You can take a bus to one of those destinations and transfer to the appropriate Resort Bus there. We found it easiest to hop on those buses at the end of our Park Day and go directly to dinner, etc.

the dd buses did not go to the parks - they must go to the resort hotels - then you would need to change to go to a park.

too many outside buses were dropping their customers off at DD and telling them to take WDW transportation.

be aware that DD transporation is probably the slowest there is (on WDW property).

see what the rate for the Pop Century would be when you are there.

OK, the Disney Village resorts, including the Wyndham Palace, the Grosvenor, the Hilton, the Doubletree, the Holiday Inn (formally owned by Courtyard Marriott), the Royal Plaza and the Best Western have their own bus system. The busses run about every 30 minutes. The bus for Epcot and MGM are the same. These busses will not take you to Downtown Disney, or the Disney Resort Hotels, only to the parks. I am not sure whether they go to the water parks, or not.

The busses that are Disney owned and run from Downtown Disney only go to the Disney Resort Hotels, not to the parks.

I have to agree with Stacy, for the best of all worlds, since you saved on your room, splurge and rent a car. It will be much easier all the way around.
