Hello All!

I am back on these boards after being away for several years. Now we are heading back to Disney- 1st time since 2001.

I am interested in any thoughts/advice on how to get from Coronado Springs to Universal Studios. We are not planning to rent a car, so need transportation. We are 2 adults and 3 teenage boys. Probably looking for the cheapest way possible. Does anyone have an idea how much that trip might cost?

Thanks! Patches

For five people, probably a van. Town cars usually only hold four passengers, but you can check.

The Mears shuttle runs about $15 per person, round trip. You have to call them the day before and book it. We have 4 people doing the same thing, but from BWV. Figured that if a towncar cost us $70, it was a better way to go for us. $10 more than the bus (we will have to add a tip to that) but we can come and go as we wish, rather than within the bus's schedule. For 5, you may want to check into a van as kaytieeldr suggested.

A taxi van would cost you about $35.00 on the meter one way. Cool thing about the taxi is that you go out and pick it up when you are ready to go. When you want to return to WDW you just go out to the taxi stand, request a van and head back home. No waiting and wondering. You will be dropped off at Universal by the taxi stand. Both stands have metered cabs WDW - Mears Only) Univ. ( Mears & Diamond). Using car service you will need to set times for pick ups. The ride is about 20 minutes to Universal by taxi. Longer if you use the Mears shuttle system and probably quite a bit more with 5 persons.

Thanks Edd...I always forget about cabs. Nothing personal but I do tend to forget about them in WDW!!!

We are also staying at CSR and going to Universal one day. We were going to rent a car for the day but have to decided to take a taxi van(there are 5 of us). We didn't want the restriction of a set time to have to leave the park or be on a schedule as you would have with a car service or shuttle. It seems so much easier to hop in a cab than go and rent a car.
