Las Vegas Transportation from Airport to strip

I'm guessing that the hotels don't provide shuttles from airport to their hotel. So what is the best way to get there? We are staying at Paris.

some resorts do have shuttles. Other than that I would just take a cab. Check out a map for the route just to keep the cabby honest LOL.

Do know if Paris provides a shuttle. Couldn't find any info on their site so I'm guessing they don't. Was going to take a taxi but thinking of signing up for Uber. What are your thoughts on Uber?

Uber was all over in Feb for our last trip.

There are several shuttle services from McCarran to the hotels; you're right, Paris does not have a dedicated one.
They are usually cheaper than a taxi but you're sharing a van with other people and the shuttle will make several
stops. But in my opinion a shuttle is the "best" way. You've got SuperShuttle, GO Showtime and Bell. I use Bell.

Uber by law can't pick up at any hotel strip resort. FYI So if you go that route be prepared you can't return that way. There are plenty of shuttles though. See if the Venetian has one and just walk across the parking lot.

Paris is several casinos down from The Venetian ( which means a couple of city blocks) We used a shuttle at the airport on our 1st trip but after that went for a taxi as it was quicker.

So after watching some youtube videos I was wondering, do the taxi drivers really try to take advantage of you. Some people say to tell the driver not to go the freeway and others say to tell the driver not to go to the tunnel. So since I don't know my way around how can I tell if the driver is ripping me off? Decided to take a taxi as we changed hotels and are staying at NY NY

Biggest scam in Vegas is the taxi ride from the airport to the strip. Do not let them take the highway, it will increase the price of your fare from < $20 to $40.

Tell them no highway, local streets only. I usually stay farther north at Wynn, so I'm not 100% sure about New York, but I would probably tell them to take Paradise to Tropicana.

Thank you for the information. I wonder how this is allowed to happen but I'm sure it happens in all big cities which is probably why Uber is becoming so popular. I have put the Nevada Taxi Authority phone number in my phone along with the directions we should be taking.

When you leave the airport building to taxes you come out facing east. The only direction you can go driving is south. The road will curve. The very first intersection you will come to has a turn to the right for the tunnel. You need to go under the underpass and at the light turn left on Swenson towards Tropicana. At Tropicana make another left. About two miles down is the strip (Las Vegas Blvd) go through the light and turn right into the Ny Ny if the driver goes in any other direction he is taking you a longer way. and yes sadly it happens a lot here to unknowing tourists.

Weird that is the case. We were there not to long ago and saw several hotels had uber/lyft/ride share signs for seperate pick up and drop off. I remember cosmo and at least one other hotel right off the top of my head.

When did it become a rule that you couldn't get picked up from the hotels?

Technically always cause they are operating illegal in nv. The taxi commission isn't happy they are here and keep trying to kick them out. The last I heard on news was that if each individual driver applied for a business license they could run. Uber was already operating without those licenses. I think the taxi commission is just upset that they are loosing money to uber. There are so many back ways to get places here it's crazy and tourists don't always know them so if a taxi takes the strip you will end up paying more just to wait for lights then you do in actual mileage.
