Transportation for split stay

We have a split stay coming up next week. AKL & POP, and possible a night at Swan in between. I have a couple questions I was hoping someone could help with. When moving from one resort to the next, will Disney transport our luggage, or do we need to do that ourselves? We will not have a car this trip, and will be relying solely on Disney transportation.

Also how do we get from one hotel to another? Do we first take a bus to a park, then hop on the resort bus?

Thanks for any help you can provide. I've been a million times, but we always stay at one resort and have a car. This will be a girls trip and neither of us wants to drive, so we are going without the car.

If you are just staying at Pop & AKL, it's simple. They'll transfer your luggage between the two resorts. Go to a park for the day, and take transportation back to your new resort.

The Swan will be a little more complicated, since it's not Disney owned luggage transfer isn't available. You would need to figure it out on your own. Your best bet would be to use a taxi or ride share to go directly between Swan and your other hotel, unless you are really light packers. Now between Swan and Pop you COULD get away with walking between the Swan and Skyliner, and take it to Pop with your luggage. Again, this probably only works if you have a very small, manageable amount of luggage like say a small carryon and a backpack.

Thanks! So, after I typed the question, we switched resorts. We will be at AKL and Boardwalk, skipping the Swan. It looks like baggage transfer should be easy, as well as transportation to each resort!

Thanks!

I am not sure if they are doing luggage transfer currently due to COVID restrictions -- no package delivery, etc is stated on the website, you might want to check with Disney

They are doing luggage transfer, but you have to be in your room to receive the luggage.

They are doing luggage transfer between Disney-owned resorts same as in normal times. You can either stop by bell services at resort #2 to pick up your bags, or call while in your room as noted by the PP and they will bring them up.

Note, don’t expect your bags at resort #2 until much later in the day - 4pm’ish or later. Make sure to pack a day bag with anything you absolutely need during the transfer since you can’t control when you’ll see your bags again.

I try to pick a park on transfer day that I know I’ll spend a lot of time in and “make a day of it” - for us, that is Epcot.

Enjoy your trip!

Thanks for the tips. We will be at MK on transfer day and plan to stay most of the day, so that's perfect. Other days I have planned for a mid-day break, but not this day, since it's my friend's birthday!

I had a 10 day split stay at 3 resorts (BWV, RIV, BLT) and Disney had no problem transferring my luggage between resorts, including cold food. You just need to be in your room to receive the items.

That is great news on the transfer of food and luggage - we are supposed to be there in a couple of weeks just after Thanksgiving if they don't close everything down again.

We just returned from a split stay. Transfer among the Disney venues was not a problem. They even refrigerated the beer when the rooms were ready.

Luggage is not allowed on Disney transportation, (except for DME), this includes the skyliner

are they transferring between a Disney resort and Swan / Dolphin in the COVID time?
