My DH, DS and I are going to be flying to WDW on 5/1. We are renting a car and staying at the CBR. My MIL will be flying in on 5/3 and staying with us for the day before she goes to Tampa. We agreed (against my better judgement) to allow her to stay in our room with us for the one night. Her flight gets in at 9:00 am and she wants us to pick her up at MCO. We really don't want to pick her up.

She said that the super shuttle and a taxi will cost her $60 and she doesn't want to pay that much money. Are there any other cheaper alternatives for her to get to the CBR from MCO?

Thanks

If she is named on your reservation for that one night, she can use Disney's Magical Express, which is free. It's a bus, a plush motorcoach, that will drop people off at up to a total of 4 resorts. It's a pretty efficient system.

If she wants personal attention she should take a car service, but if she wants free then DME is tailor-made for her.

But in order to use it she MUST be named on your room reservation. It doesn't matter if she's arriving on a different day than you, and it doesn't matter that you aren't using DME yourselves.

Even though it's free, she must have a reservation for DME. Don't make the reservation until you first put her on your room reservation.

SuperShuttle doesn't operate in Orlando.
Mears Shuttle will not transport her to a Disney-owned resort due to Magical Express.
Charge her the $20 it's going to cost you for an additional adult in a CBR room (well, $15 plus tax, rounded up for your convenience ;)) and CleveRocks is right - put her on your reservation for that one night and have her use Magical Express.

Do you like your MIL? :rolleyes1
If not, let her take a LYNX bus.....:rotfl2:

It might take her all day, but it will only cost her a couple of bucks-or she could be added to your ressie like the posters above suggest

LOL

It's not that I don't like her I just feel like she takes advantage of us. I have a 2 year old and I don't really feel like waking him up an hour earlier to schlep him to the airport to pick her up when she can easily pay $60 and have a town car bring her to the hotel.

I may look into adding her to our room so that we can have magical express pick her up. My only concern with that is that her flight gets in at 9:00 am and we are waiting on her to head to Animal Kingdom. How long will it take her to get to the CBR on the magical express?

Are there any shuttles that will bring you from MCO to CBR other than Magical Express? Is there any private car service that is less than $60?

Thanks

Mears will bring her to the Swan/Dolphin for around $20. You could pick her up from there.

Tell her to pay the $20.00 and you will pay her back. Mention it will be cheaper for you than driving to the airport.
