Transportation for 1/2 Marathon on 1/8/11

Does anyone know - are the monorails working early enough to reach the finish line for the 1/2 marathon?

We will be staying at the Poly and will need to get to the parking lot in Epcot for the finish line.

We are staying at the Polynesian and have family that is running the 1/2 marathon as well... would love to know a clear answer too! From some accounts that I've read, yes, depending on how fast the runners you are watching out for are. Everyone I speak to says the buses are the way to go though. We are new to this experience so we're trying to gather as much information as possible.

Yes, the monorail is working earlier enough.

Check out the WDW marathon site. I downloaded the 2010 program and it has all the details about race day travel. People staying at the monorail resorts take the monorail to (and from) the start. One of the bonuses of staying at a monorail resort. Poly gets the special bonus of only needing to take one train since you can walk to the TTC.

Thanks crashbb. I will look for the 2010 guide and see what it says.

I'm sure my DH will be thankful he can take the monorail to the start line that early. I am wondering if they'll have the monorail working to get me and the family to the finish line to see DH finish.

I see from the map that the finish is in the epcot parking lot. I just wasn't sure if we had to trudge from the monorail all the way across the lot or if there will be closer stops to go by bus.

They ussally run three monorails for the marahon and they start early well that what they did in years past because they ussally never put three monorails on the epcot line.
