If some people take offense to the above, none was meant and none should be taken. There are many ways for accountants and bean counters to shuffle costs - my bet for now is BCV dues up a bit, BWV dues flat (at least in transportation)

Sorry, my comments were not directed at you or Shan. There were however some posts in the previous thread essentially calling out Paul for even asking the question because BCV dues might go up and it would be "his fault". I was responding to that issue and the posts here gave me a springboard to do so.

Actually Dean, Paul and I did get into quite a heated debate on an earlier thread regarding this issue, although I think it turned into more of a personal nature for both of us instead of sticking with the original topic. I don't care to get into such an argument again and I bet that Paul would agree, but it will be interesting to see how things turn out come next dues statement.

Am I glad my BCV dues will probably go up due to Paul's inquires? Well, of course not. It would sound silly of me to say - YIPPEE!!! I have to pay more! Thank you Paul! But, a few pennies aren't going to kill me. (Course, I might have to sell my kidney or something... )

Should Paul have not questioned this? Well, if it concerned him enough to put so much time and effort into it, I don't see why not.

Do I think things will end up the way Paul hopes they will? Well, since my glass just can't seem to get half FULL, I guess probably not. But, I do hope I'm wrong if anything to correct the bus transportation concerns regarding all of the Epcot resorts. Even though I own at BCV, I will hopefully stay at BWV every so often and I don't want to have to experience the bus nightmare either. Don't think anybody should. But, do I think the dues will go down for BWV? I doubt it. Once again I believe BCV dues will go up and BWV dues will stay the same. I'm not so blinded by Disney magic that I can't see the potential for Disney to work it to their advantage. I know, I know...timeshare laws... Sorry, but that is how I feel.

Nah, really I got tired of some of the negative remarks regarding my typing so I finally decided to try to download that Internet spell checker thing again and this time it worked. Catches most things, but not all. The playful teasing was fun, but some people acted like I was killing them!

Dean I respect you, you're a world of knowledge and are always willing to help, but I don't understand why I can't voice an opinion without getting personally insulted. I'm surprised. HELP! I am getting flamed! (Now I need a smilie with someone trying to set me on fire...)

Just because I'm not jumping for joy that my dues might increase, just because I'm not too sure the outcome of this will be what Paul envisions as truly fair doesn't mean I'm a cheat.

I paid what they told me to pay. Saying, "It's just like if the store has the wrong price on something and I tell them right before you go to buy it and you don't get the WRONG lower price." isn't fair. I never knew I should owe more for my BCV dues so I never tried to cheat them. If we owe more next year then so be it, I'll pay that, too.

My point is nothing will ever be fair. Someone will always find fault and nick pick until they get their way. Now I'm mad. Why would I even get worked up over this?!? I'm sure my post will be dissected and flamed more. It is hard to voice any opinion on this board that may be slightly different than anyone else's.

I do not understand your confusion. The cost will be divided up according to the number of units per resort. What is so difficult about that? How could this possibly not be considered fair? DVC resorts will be paying their % based on number of units just like the non DVC resorts will pay based on the same calculation.
This is the way the transportation costs have always been divided. The problem occured when BCV was added and the costs were calculated incorrectly. Now the error has been discovered and it is being corrected. Bottom line BCV members have not been paying the correct amount for transportation costs and now they will. If, or if not the BWV transportation costs go down has NOTHING to do with the fact that BCV has been paying the wrong amount towards transportation costs.
There is nothing to be happy or not happy about. It is a fact of life, a reality. BCV was paying the wrong amount due to an error. The error has is being corrected and now BCV will be paying the correct amount. Simple.
BTW, with the exception of S/D, ALL the resorts on property-- including DVC resorts, are WDW's "own" resorts. I am sorry, but even the mere suggestion that WDW would try to pass off any type of costs at a non DVC resort onto DVC members is ludicrous! If I felt this way about a company, I certainly would never spend many thousands of dollars on one of their products!

I was sincere in that your post was good. And I am not attacking you personally or otherwise. OTOH, if you are the type of peson that would harbour ill will toward someone who asked an appropriate and honest question, as Paul did, that is something you'll have to live with. I trust you are not and were just misunderstood.

Let's just say I do not trust either DVC nor WDW to look after our interests first as contract owners. Their interests will come first and ours will come second.

I trust WDW/DVC to keep the resorts in reasonable condition and we like the locations - hence my decision to invest the $$$ into the program.

All is well with the world - had lunch with my brother, went to a cute tea room for a wedding shower, had dinner out with my family, girls are now fast asleep... So our dues might go up! Life! Stinks, but what can you do?

Yes, BWVDee I will admit I have a love/hate relationship with Disney right now. I'm very skeptical. But, I do love going to WDW! I guess in a way I could blame it on the net. If I didn't read so much about what all is going on I'd probably be much happier about our DVC purchase. Sometimes it is best to be naive and clueless, isn't it? I often wish I was more carefree like that.

Fair, fair, fair. I guess we'll have to wait and see. But, will we really know if things are truly fair? I've debated this topic before and I'm tired. I guess there are worse things to worry about. I'm off to bed.

Another nice post. We all make mistakes and/or misunderstand. It is so hard to tell sometimes with the printed word. As they say, a bad day on vacation is usually better than a good day at work.
