Transportation at Contemporary?

I will be staying at the Contemporary in September. With the transportation offered at this resort what are all my options? In other words where all can I go using the available transportation options at this resort? I hope this ? is'nt to confussing.

When going to the Magic Kingdom you have the option of taking the Resort Monorail, or using the walkway. Personally it's faster to walk to the Magic Kingdom, since the Monorail will stop at the TTC, Polynesian and Grand Floridian before arriving at the Magic Kingdom. However if your tired when leaving the Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary is the very next stop so you won't have a long ride back. When going to Epcot take the Resort Monorail to the TTC and then transfer to the Epcot Monorail. As for going to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney the only way to those locations is by the Disney Transport buses. If your planning on going to Blizzard Beach it shares the same bus that goes to the Animal Kingdom and Typhoon Lagoon shares the same bus that goes to Downtown Disney.

One big advantage is that with MK right next door, you have easy connections to any resort on property. That is a big plus if you've planned dinners at some of the resort restaurants, or if you have a dining reservation in World Showcase at Epcot (if you take the BC bus, you can enter through International Gateway and be closer to your restaurant). You can either take the monorail around and then walk to the resort bus stops, or just walk from CR to the resort bus stops. Personally, I don't think there's a whole lot of difference in the walking distance either way. If you do the monorail route, be sure to allow about 30 minutes for the monorail and then another 30 to catch and ride a resort bus (walking will save you 15-20 minutes, in my experience). There is also a boat at the marina behind CR that will take you to FW and WL.

It's also nice to take the boat to Fort Wilderness, you can also walk there, nice trail.

As with all Disney Resorts, transportation will take you anywhere on Disney property. That is the added beauty of staying at a Disney property. The Contemporary, along with GF and Poly have use of the monorail, right at their doorstep along with buses and boats. You will have no problem getting around the world - enjoy!
