Good evening, everyone.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum (I thought about putting this in the "Dining" section, but it didn't feel right), but I have a question about getting around the world late at night.

We have a dining reservation at the California Grill at the Contemporary at 9:30 on a Friday night. Due to the late start, we won't be done until 11:00-11:30. Since all of the parks are closed by then, is our only shot of getting back to our resort (Boardwalk) by taking a bus to Downtown Disney, then another bus to Boardwalk, or are there other alternatives?

I suppose we could always take a taxi....

Thanks!

Ryan

A taxi will be the fastest way, for sure, and probably run you $15-$20. What time does MK close? It's possible you can still walk over to the MK bus area and catch a bus to your resort as buses can run up to 2 hours after park close.

Thanks, Tara.

MK closes at 10:00 that night, and I had assumed that busses ran for only an hour after closing. If they do run for two hours after, I think we're golden. :)

Thanks again!

The Unofficial Guide actually says the buses run for "2 to 3 hours after park closing" but what I've always read here is that they run until the park is empty.

The good news is that you should be able to see from the restaurant if the MK buses are still running. ;)

Are the fireworks scheduled for 10:00, too? If so, I think you'll be able to walk over to MK and catch the bus to BW until at least midnight. The bus service from DTD to BW is less than optimal. I think it stops at Swan, Dolphin, BC and YC first and then on to BW. It is a long ride. (Although getting off at Swan and then walking over the bridge near the BWV side isn't too bad.)

It's a 'Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party' night (which we won't be attending), and I believe the 'Holiday Wishes Fireworks' are at 9:30PM those nights.

You know, now that I write this, I realize how big of an idiot I am. I have been looking at the park hours listed for regular customers, not the extended hours with the party - the park really closes at midnight.

Sorry, folks. :)

Well then...there ya go!!! Glad it will work out for you.
