We've rented a car for our upcoming trip. But I've read that the MK bus drops you off right at the front gate, instead of going to the TTC. My BF uses crutches, so this would be much help to us. So for our MK day, we're thinking of taking the bus and leave the car at Pop.

Here's the dilemma: We have joined a Wishes cruise leaving from the Wilderness Lodge. I thought we'd take the boat from MK to WL that evening. That leaves us stranded at WL. How would be get back to Pop? If we took the boat, that takes us to TTC, so we'd have to go BACK to the maingate and take the bus?

Should we just drive to MK and then move the car that night to WL?

The boat at WL actually goes to the MK, not to the TTC. However, after a Wishes Cruise, I'm not sure the boat will still be running.

I hate taking a car to MK any time, even though we have a HC placard and park close by the TTC. Then again, that might just be your best option here. With DS's wheelchair, we find Disney Transportation to be most convenient, but YMMV.

Good luck! :goodvibes

Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah, the HC lot at MK is horrible! That incline under the bridge is too much--hopefully there'll be a lot wheelchair. (we rent at the parks).

I was worried that the boat may not run after Wishes either. I guess I'll be taking the car then!

FYI, none of the bus stops are really 'at the front gate' of any of the resorts - the walk is longer from the buses than the front of the parking lot at AK, for example - so expect a bit of a haul from any bus stop to the front gates.

Also, the value resorts tend to be assigned the most distant bus stops at the parks...

We were planning on using the car around most of WDW, it was just MK that I read the recommendation to take the bus versus parking. If I remember correctly, the HC lot at AK was really small, but it was a lot closer to the entrance. I ended up dropping BF off and parking further away...but its good to keep in mind!

The boat from MK to WL should still be running for upto 1 hour after the park closes. So if you are back to WL in that time frame, then you should have no problem taking the boat back to MK to catch your Pop bus. And yes for the MK, the bus is really the closest drop off for your situation.

Besides the other options listed, you could catch a Downtown Disney bus at WL. Once you are at DD, you can catch a bus to your resort.

When you are at your resort, the phone has a button that connects to Transportation. You could try calling there and explain what you need to do. They may have some other suggestions or ideas about which option might work best.
