Hi, I'm new to disboards & i've been getting tips and stuff from this site which is very helpful so thanku.

I'm a uk disney bride2be & i'm wanting to have A Beauty & the Beast theme wedding.

The one thing that i would like to arrive in is a horse drawn carriage with white horses & i know that cinderella's carriage has six white ponies which i like but i don't like cindy's carriage & i know that there is also a horse drawn landau carriage which is white with a brown/black horse but the one thing i would like is a white carriage with white horses- is it possible to change horses ?

How/did are you arriving to your wedding ?

Thanks

we arrived in a white vintage rolls royce

We took a boring old limo to the ceremony site (cuz we got there 1 1/2 hours early for pix), but we took a Friendship Boat from the ceremony to the reception!

We figured there would have to be a drive, but it just looked to small to have a backseat!

Nope 4 people fit into the rolls royce. I drove in it with my parents to the wedding ceremony as well.

My mind is bad but I think I read earlier this week that someone mentioned picking their hourses for the landau coach.

maybe they'll post

how far do you have to go?

This is a good question for me as well, because I want to stay at the GF, but DF wants a Rolls Royce....is it worth it? and would a person need to have it rented for the entire ceremony and reception?

How close is the GF to the WP? I thought they were right next door...

We would like to get married at the yacht club gazebo but i would like to stay & have our reception at the GF but the price per head 4 food n that is too much so i don't know where to have the reception as we want something like a ballroom with a dance floor but i would like to stay at the GF.

The WP is right next door to the GF cos i've seen pic's of it.

I would love to arrive in a horse drawn carriage but i don't know how my fiance will arrive, i know his favourite car is an aston martin but disney don't do them i don't think but is it worth have too lots of wedding transport -
One 4 the bride & her father & One 4 the groom & best man

You pay a flat fee for specialty transportation like the Rolls or the Carriage, so it is there to drop you off and to pick you up for a staged exit (meaning you don't actually leave, you come back around after your photographer gets pictures of you departing). As you surmised, the WP and GF are right next to each other, so you're really getting the transportation for show. But apparently it's a lovely feeling to ride in the carriage, even for those few minutes! :goodvibes

Can you have your reception in a ballroom at the Yacht CLub and just take pix at the Grand Floridian (where you'd be staying) beforehand?

Also, generally the groom doesn't get to make a grand entrance (poor guy!), so that would sure be fun for him! You can always search for outside rental companies to get that Aston Martin - you don't have to rent through Disney. :thumbsup2

It depends on the location and how far he has to go. Usually it's by limo, but some have ridden with the guests on a chartered bus or driven their own cars (well, that wouldn't work for an in-park ceremony). Or, if you're staying in a nearby hotel, the groom and his fellas could just walk - like from BoardWalk Inn to Sea Breeze Point or from the Polynesian or the Grand Floridian to the Wedding Pavilion.

That's pretty much what I was wondering...our costs are soaring and I'm wondering if it's really worth the cost of renting the rolls or the Ford convertible...it would look nice in the pictures, but thats about all the use I'd get out if, right? Unless it could shuttle over the guys first, take some pictures with it, then return to get me and my BM and then take pics of us (ending with pics of the couple after the ceremony)...but we purposely got Citricos so pple could walk over from the WP to the reception.

That's a really good idea! If you decide to do it, let us know how it works out.

I have to say, I budgeted the heck outta my wedding so I could bring it in right at the minimum, but I kinda regret not getting the Rolls instead of the limo because I hate having the limo in our pictures. ...But I'm shallow like that! :rotfl:

Oh I'm going to have to read your PJ more thoroughly, because from the potential no. of guest I have (150), I don't think it will be anywhere near minimum...though I wish it could.

But DF wants the car, so I'll find out how long I get it for and use it up wisely! :yay:

hi

Congrats and welcome to another UK bride.

We were in the same boat as you, my DF wanted a white horse but did not like the cinderella carraige so we talked to the wedding planner and YES you CAN decide what colour horse you have. You can also choose which breed, shire or quater horse....

Hope this helps, when is the wedding?

Thanku So much october bride now i don't have to worry about it.

Plan to get married on the 5th may 2010

Not gonna book it with disney yet cos i wanna get ideas & info first & i wanna have a kid first be4 i get married (long story).

Thanku, you've made my day.

Can u choose how many horses 2 have with the landau carriage or are you only allowed one & if you are allowed 2 have more than one horse does it cost more ?
