Off to DLP during first week of April and would like to visit Paris for the day. Staying at Davy Crockett but don't fancy driving into the city, what's the best/cheapest option?

You can take the train direct from the station at Disneyland straight into Paris. The RER line A takes you straight into the city, it should take around 30 mins to get into the city centre.

Ecole Militaire is at one end of Champ de Mars, and Bir Hakeim is at the other end, around the corner so to speak. Or you can cross the bridge and use Trocadero.

Might I suggest you either take the stairs or reserve online if you are going during a busy time.

If you want to go the the Eiffel Tower the best stop on the RER line is Charles de Gaulle Etoile.
Then change onto the metro line 6 (don't exit the station ) and go 3 stops to Trocadero.
When you exit the station you can see the Tower and walk down towards it past the fountains.
In my opinion you get the best view of the Tower from here.

The best ticket to buy from DLP to Paris is the mobilis ticket. It costs approx 14Euros and will give you return travel on the RER and unlimited use of the metro on that day.

This map will help you plan your route

From Davy Crockett you might be better to park at Val d'Europe and get the train from there.

We get free parking at the parks, so that will probably save on the extra rail tickets?

I'm not sure on the difference in the train ticket price but you'll save on parking costs at least, if you don't mind the short walk between the station and the car park.

We did it last year and wouldn't hesitate to again.

Totally agree! Great photo opportunity when you come out of the station :-)
