Transport I-Drive to WDW

Hi

I have a friend (honest) who is staying at a hotel in Pointe Orlando off International Drive.

They are not hiring a car, have free shuttles to SW, US and IOA but have to pay when travelling to WDW.

They have worked out the shuttle to Disney will cost the seven of them, 4 adults and 3 children £70 per day.

Are there better options? I am sure I have a memory of a regular bus from I-Drive to WDW????

Any tips and advice greatly appreciated.

We used to take the Lynx buses back and forth to the TTC/DTD from I Drive. It was something like $1.75 a single (2009).

I'm sure it was the number 8 to seaworld and them change to the number 50, though I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong! Just had to remember to tell the driver that you need to transfer so that you don't pay again when you change buses.

We never hired a car when we went to Orlando as a family, and have never had a problem with using the Lynx buses or the trolley

You would need the I-Ride trolley down to seaworld and then a Lynx 50 to the TTC, and of course from there you can monorail to MK or EPCOT, boat to MK, or Disney bus to AK or DHS. As I recall, you can get week or two-week passes for the trolley to save some cash.

they could use the IRide Trolly to seaworld then pick up the 50 Lynx to MK or pick up the 8 to Seaworld and transfer to 50 lynx to MK..
The 50 also goes past DTD.

Personally I'd catch the Lynx 8 from Int'l drive as it's far quicker then the trolly and they will then only need to ask for a transfer instead of paying twice. I would advise them to get a weekly pass. The no. 8 lynx is fab because it will also get you to both Premium outlets stores.
