In September I will be staying at the Quality Inn on International Drive, during my holiday I will be visiting the Disney parks as per usual :D the only problem is the transport to the Disney area. The hotel offers a shuttle but according to reviews it is unreliable and the pick up times from the parks are earlier than the wishes fireworks display :headache: , I've looked into the lynx buses method of getting there but Im not sure I trust public transport or the amount of time the route takes to get to the parks. Does anybody have any other suggestions or opinions on the best way to get there? taxis are an option but i think a little pricey

Thanks :thumbsup2

thanks for the reply... yeah I forgot to mention we're underage for renting a car, I know it sounds like i'm being too choosy but I've seen people post elsewhere about cheaper transport options, but they've never got back to me on what they are or where to find them :confused3

Well then I think you've covered all the options:

  • hotel shuttle
  • I-drive trolley (if needed) to lynx bus route
  • taxi

So it's really about how much you want to spend vs. how much you want to be inconvenienced.

Yeah i thought it would come to that :( i just saw some people on trip advisor mention some "guys" around the bus stops that offer cheaper travel to the disney resorts, was just wondering whether other people knew whether these "guys" are a taxi firm or otherwise :/ i appreciate its an awkward question haha

There are probably gypsy cabs (what they are called here in DC) - which are unlicensed cabs - that hang around the I-drive area. If I was taking a cab, I probably would only be comfortable with a well-known cab company like Mears. If some gypsy cab driver takes you miles and miles out of your way, you're going to end up paying the same or more as you would to take Mears or another professional cab company. Just my opinion though - I have never stayed outside the World without a car.
