Transport between CDG and Disneyland

Hi,
We're planning our first trip to Disneyland Paris and
so far we have the flight tickets (for the first time ever I have managed to get the fabled £0.00 ticket on bmibaby but of course taxes are on top!) but are trying to work out over the next few weeks accomodation and whether to stop in Paris and get the RER or stop at Disneyland itself.

Disneyland is probably the best option but the fly in the ointment is getting from Disneyland Paris to CDG as the flight leaves at 0955 on a Saturday morning and apart from a mammouth 1 1/2 hour trip on RER there seems no public transport options! Getting from CDG to Disneyland is no hastle, but to get to CDG for 8am seems difficult...

Any advice welcome!

Hello Phillip - welcome to the DIS!!

Unfortunately you are quite right - there is a total lack of public transport options for that time in the morning. How many of you are going? For us (2 adults and 2 children), a private shuttle works out at not much more than a trip on the VEA. For such an easy door to door service, it would be well worth it at that time in the morning. And in your case you have all the money you saved on your airfare to help towards the difference in price!!

Have a look on this thread for the different shuttle companies. From feedback on this board, RS Transport seem to be a good option.

How long, before the flight, does the CDG airport recommend that a person arrive for an international flight. I remember reading 3 hours somewhere (maybe this board) but I can not find my source.

The train I wanted was all booked, but I did get the next train, which gets me there exactly 2 hours before my flight leaves.
I hadn't realized that the TGV trains fill up, since my flight is in the early afternoon (not a peak travel time).

I have learned that the mark-up for buying the reservation on-line was huge. Buying them here costs only 3 euros per reservation (Raileurope charged me $11 usd, they also told me it was not exchangable, and I was able to exchange it at the train station in France).

A couple of questions! Do you mean that the train pulls up in the station exactly 2 hours before your flight? And which terminal are you flying from?

Pretty much exactly (maybe 3 minutes difference).
AEROGARE 2 TERMINAL E is the terminal, and that is close.
I know when I got off the plane, it was a short walk to the train station.

However, I am the sort that likes to allow extra time, and hates to cut things close. But the earlier train is full.
I should maybe try to get on the earlier train anyway, even if I have to stand.

That doesn't sound too bad, if you've only got a short walk to your check in. It's when you have to rely on the shuttle bus to take you round the airport, that it starts to get scary!!

But the idea of trying to get on the earlier train is quite a sound one. I would have thought you could probably squeeze on - but I'm not certain how strictly they run the system Is there a long wait between the two trains? It just might get a bit boring if you can't get on the earlier one and have to wait around for the next one.

When I got on a TGV train this morning, in Lyon Part Dieu, headed for Marne La Vallee, they were checking the reservation (and had a machine that stamp it).
However, I didn't sit in my seat. First I sat in this non-numbered seat by the luggage rack, as I wasn't sure about leaving my luggage out of my site, and I realized just how far away my seat was from the luggage rack.
Then I sat in the food place for a few minutes (and looked at the prices).
Then I decided to go to my seat, and it was taken by someone else.
I told him it was my seat but he could stay. It was obvious to me he was next to a freind or family member. I don't know if he even spoke English or understood me at all. I found an empty seat (a real seat) not too far from the luggage, and next to someone who also spoke English.

So when I go back to CDG, I will attempt to get on the earlier train. I am content to not have a seat, as there are plenty of places to sit or even stand. The two trains are 90 minutes apart.
I will have my later reservation with me, and show that if they ask to see anything. I stress too bad if I am cutting the time too close. If I allow extra time, I can relax if I realize it is taking me too long to figure out where I am going.

Hi Phil welcome.

Have never flown to DLP but on our last trip to Paris It was much quicker & easier to get a taxi from CDG than the train. Can't remember how much it cost but it was reasonable & we asked the price before hand & he more or less stuck to it.

Sounds like the private shuttle options would fit the bill. By the way well done on getting those £0 bmi flights. I thought they were an urban myth

I managed to get on the earlier train.
There were lots and lots of seats.
The schedule number had changed, which was somewhat frustrating, since the train listed on the board which shows what platform number to go to; did not show the same schedule number as any of the schedules (either the printed paper one, or the one posted in the station).
I had to ask someone to be certain it really did stop at CDG.
The changed number may be why the agent in Grenoble told me he could not book me on that train.
No one checked my ticket at all. I just stamped it, and got on the train.
