Transitioning Conference Stay into Extended Stay

I will be attending a conference at Swan/Dolphin in March for work. We just received the pre-registration information and I was shocked to learn that aside from being able to stay at the Swan/Dolphin, we also have the option to stay at the Beach/Yacht Club for the same low rate and for 3 nights before and after the conference! (Conference booking, which is through the conference website, doesn't begin until early November.)

Prior to getting this notification, DH and I had already booked a 3 night stay at Boardwalk after the conference ended for a mini-vacation. Booked my ADRs last week. However, now I'm wondering what happens if I book my conference stay with three additional nights through my conference website at Beach/Yacht Club. Will that transition over to MDE so that I can see the reservation there and move my ADRs over too?

I didn't want to wait until November to book since I wanted to secure my ADRs.

To my knowledge, even if you change your hotel booking, it will not impact your ADRs. The only way ADRs are tied to your reservation is to allow on-site guests the ability to book 180+10. But since that time has come and gone, your ADRs shouldn't be impacted. Anyone can book ADRs regardless of having a hotel reservation and if they cancel a hotel reservation, they'd still have to manually cancel the ADRs.

I am guessing you'd have to book Beach/Yacht Club through the conference, so you'd most likely have to link that reservation in MDE yourself. You'll also want to make sure your tickets are linked so you can book FP+ at 60 days.

As PP mentioned, ADR's are not tied to resort reservations. A resort reservation simply opens the 180+10 window. You could cancel your BWI reservation now and your ADR's would remain intact. Once you make your reservations through your conference website, simply link your new resort confirmation number to MDE and you should see it listed in your account. As nkereina said, make sure you have tickets linked prior to your 60 day window so you can make FP+. I imagine you have also been offered convention tickets with your conference stay?
