Transition from DoubleTree Disney Springs to Pop on MK Morning

We will be staying at the DoubleTree in Disney Springs for a few days on points for a couple of beach days and then transitioning to Pop Century on a Tuesday morning that we’ll be headed to the Magic Kingdom. Official park opening is 9:00am so we’d like to be walking through the turnstiles by about 8:15am. My questions are:

1. Does it make more sense to go directly to the TTC from Disney Springs to start our day or should we stop at Pop, park and ride a bus over? (We’ll want to take a midday break if that factors into anyone’s advice.)

2. My understanding is that if we do online check-in, our Magic Bands will be ready to go with our dining plan, complimentary parking for resort guests etc. even if we do NOT stop at Pop first. I’ve read some instances where this did not work correctly - what have you experienced going straight to the parks with online check-in?

1. Stop at Pop, early, then yes bus to MK.

I agree, plan to stop at Pop. We did online check in and never received our room number during our drive down. I called when we were about an hour away and they told me I needed to stop by the front desk. Once there at the desk there was no reason given for why I couldn't bypass the desk and could have just gotten the room number. You can't guarantee everything will be all set to go straight to the park or that online check in will work smoothly. Having said that, the buses for MK prior to opening have very long lines at the values so plan accordingly. They order extra buses but it still takes a bit of time for them to arrive and load and be on their way.

You will really cut into your time if you go to POP first. If you have a problem with your bands you should be able to get it taken care of at guest relations at the park entrance
