Transformers Opening Date

Starting the topic to dicuss some rumors about Transformers the ride.

It appears to be fairly well ahead of schedule, and may open on Memorial Day Weekend, with possible soft openings as early as the peak of spring break, very late March, April. (getting more likely as it nears the end of May)

If anyone is going then, you may get lucky and get to see it in preview.

Probably quite a bit too early...We are going the last weekend of Mardi GRAS...just maybe by some crazy miracle stars aligned just right....

Soft openings are the best. We hit Harry Potter just right and we ended up getting bored with doing the rides over and over. Once in a lifetime.

Last night I booked our rooms at RPR (yay!) and I did them over the phone. While I was speaking to the man he mentioned it was a good time to have the unlimited express pass, what with Transformers being open when we go.... I just thought he was mistaken so I didn't say anything else! Now I'm so wishing I had asked him more about it!! Maybe the rumors are true! We are visiting June 17-22 btw. I SO hope it is!!! I have three boys that would FREAK if we got to ride it!!

I rode the one at Universal Hollywood this summer. It was awesome. We walked off, looked at each other with big grins, and ran back on again!

It is like Spiderman.

If you haven't been to Universal before, it is like a combination of Dinosaur and Star Tours. Your vehicle moves along a track and encounters different rooms with large screens and sets.

We'll be there again in the end of August so it should be open by then. I will make a prediction now. My husband and son will ride it no less than 10 times

The gift shop for the ride opened late yesterday afternoon, so it's getting closer. Also the roaming transformer robot characters are going to be showing up starting this week. (These are awesome if you haven't seen them in person)

As for the ride, sometime next month seems most likely for unofficial "soft" openings, but the first post is still accurate. Official opening more likely around Memorial Day.

The biggest difference with the unofficial openings (technical rehersals), Unofficial openings you can't plan for since they can take the ride up or down during the day as needed, sometimes not everything is working, sometimes intentionally, to test out how the ride handles different situations, and they don't do express for. Official opening includes express access.

There are two of them. Both Optimus and Bumblebee were doing the meet and greet. I think they alternate shifts and then appear together toward the end.
