Transformers - OFFICIAL OPENING DATE WITHIN

A friend of a friend reported that Transformers had a soft opening. Can anyone confirm? We are going in May are hoping the rumor is true! Thanks.

I don't believe that is true. That is the first I've heard about it and I have been following closely along on all the discussion forums on boards that seem to have good, reliable information.

From what I can tell, they don't have all the ride vehicles yet and the personnel has just been hired to run the ride. So, I think soft openings now are really not possible at this time.

If there had been soft openings, you'd be hearing about it all over the place.

There have been characters out doing meet and greets but that is all.

I haven't seen or heard anything about a soft opening either.

I think it's still too early to look for one...maybe at the end of the month but not now.

The road between the "dump out" from Shrek and Transformers was replaced a couple of weeks ago during our trip. One day it was all torn out and barricaded off, the next it was completely paved. They get things done so quick! It's a shame the state road crews can't work that fast!

We were over there over the weekend. As far as I can tell the ride is still closed with no soft opening. The exit into the gift shop at least what I think is the exit is still closed and there's objects in the queue lines that would prevent people from walking thru. Also we didn't see the first person where the lines would be.

No. Universal rarely gives an opening date. They will eventually give a grand opening date, but the ride will have opened before that.

All that's been stated is "summer 2013"...personally I think the ride will have the grand opening sometime around July 4th. Soft openings would be sometime in mid to late June...but that's just my opinion.

Do you remember off hand if AP holders get a special invite for the soft opening? Or its at least mentioned in the newsletter? I remember seeing something like that when the Simpsons opened, but dont remember where I saw it. Im pretty sure we didint get anything for HP, and I mentioned that to GS in a letter.

I haven't seen anything but I haven't received the new Passport yet. That probably won't be mailed until early May. I don't know if passholders will get a sneak peak...I hope so but who knows.

Universal really dropped the ball for HP...waiting for months until anything was done. I hope they've learned from that fiasco.

I was curious if you remembered anything from the past.

They did big time drop the ball on HP. I sent them 2 different letters on the subject, 1 was a what were you thinking, and the other ideas on what I would have done differently. So well see what they do this time around.

They did have passholder preview weekends for Despicable Me, prior to the grand opening, they had started soft openings off and on about a week prior to the passholder previews, as I recall.

Where is the Transformers ride going to be? We were there a couple weeks ago and I thought it was going in the area of the old Jaws attraction. We saw workmen back there and whatever they were working on didn't look even close to being complete. If I am wrong, what is going in back by Jaws?

Back by jaws is the harry Potter expansion .Transformers is where the old Soundstage 44 building was near the Shrek building.It is completed and actually today they were putting up the express pass signs on the queue area
