:sunny: Hi there, just wondering if anyone has used an alternate service than Disney for their transfers to the Disney Cruise Port from Orlandos airport?
If so who did you use? Were they good? and How much for a family of 4?
We are cruising 1-20/1-27, and just seeing if I can save $$$$ anywhere.

Fondly,
D :sunny:

Hi there! Last jan. we were a lg group-12 and we used tiffany. The service was great and it was $350 for all of us-with a trailer thing for all the luggage. I'm sure the price would be much less for only 4. LOL. And that was round trip-from MCO to WDW-to port to airport. We saved alot over disney transfers. Hope this helps! Angel

You can find a car service that will take a family of 4 roundtrip to the Port and back for around $200.00. There are numerous ways to find the service. The Airport has a web site which you can go to: look for the Vehicle-for-hire page which links off the main page on left side bar. Put your arrow on transportation and another group will come up. Vehicle-for-hire is listed there and click on it.

We are using FLTours in December with a towncar. The cost is $240.00 which is the exact same price as DCL transportation to and from the resorts. I don't know how much the price would be to and from MCO. They include a 30 minute grocery stop each way.

You might want to do one way car rentals to the port and back. Budget, Hertz, and a couple of other car rental companies have shuttles to the port from their offsite facilities in Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach. You can usually get a car for around $30 a day. This is what we have always done and it works great. One person drops the luggage and other passengers at the port, returns the car, and then takes the shuttle back to the port. The person who was dropped of can check everyone in and the person returning the car just needs an ID to get into the terminal. Saves a lot of money.

If you aren't concerned about using town cars or limos, www.artsshuttle.com uses vans and I think he is about $75-$80 one way.

January 05, my nephew and I used Sunray Transportation from the Cruise to HRH to the airport to AS-Sports to the airport. (Snow back home, flight was canceled. Sunray came back to the airport to bring us to AS-Sports for another day and half at WDW. Oh the horrors, I know! ;) ) We were extremely pleased especially with the ease of getting picked up at the airport when we learned we couldn't get on a flight for at least 36 hours!

Another vote for two one-way car rentals. Budget and Avis are very close to the port with free shuttle to the port and on-airport at MCO. It's the cheapest way to go. It's easy to find your way to Cocoa Beach too.

Do a search, there were a couple of very bad posts regarding arts shuttle.

Renting a car may be the cheapest way to go and a towncar service is probably the easiest.

Art's Shuttle is known to have some very sleazy drivers.

Most of the vehicles I have seen do not look good at all. I have seen the drivers doing "meet and greets" at the airport and the port, and their dress is not up to the industry as a whole. The company is based at the Port so most of their drivers do not know the Orlando area. Especially the new ones. It is my understanding that they turn over drivers real fast because of the quality they hire.

The first post describing what happened, I would not dispute. It has probably happened many other times.

Here is something constructive for everyone:

Before believing in anything people say (Edd or not Edd), do some further research. I can not believe people would listen to someone based on guesses or possibilities, but they do; and that is dangerous.

I'm not attacking Edd directly, I'm just defending the people he has hurt by saying things without proof and most of the time based on what he "thinks", "believes", or "guesses". He, or anyone else, can give good information and help members here without hurting others with no concrete facts. I'm sure you'll understand.

Now, if this is an open forum, how come my other post was deleted.Unbelievable! :sad2:

Okay kids, you know what??? If you don't stop the bickering (sorry bicker!!!) I'm gonna start shutting down stuff!!! What is it with everyone lately?? Can't you play nicely? hpguy.....just about everyone here is familier with Edd, and his postings. We all realize that his postings are his views...same as the rest of us. While I can't give you a reason for any of your previous posts being deleted, since I didn't delete them, I'm sure that particular moderator had a reason. You may want to check with them.
Now, keep the personalities out of the discussion. I'm tired, I'm cranky...I need a trip to WDW and I don't care how I get there...bus, towncar, donkey!!! Play nicely!!! :headache:
