We are going to DLP this weekend - we are flying into CDG and staying at the Explorers Hotel - we were thinking of getting the VEA from the airport but only certain ones will drop off at Explorers - which means that we would have to be dropped off at the coach station and get another shuttle bus to the hotel.

Has anyone done this ... how frequently do these run?

Has anyone taken a taxi from CDG to DLP - how much does it cost? :)

have a look here for the VEA schedule

http://www.vea.fr/uk/infos-horaires.asp

and for the prices look here:

I have used a private shuttle and it cost us 90 euros for 6 persons with RS Transports

I believe that all of the VEA shuttles from CDG stop at the DLP bus station - so that's every 45 minutes on average. Then the bus to the Explorers (and other Val du France hotels) goes about every 25 minutes from there.

From peoples reports, taxi prices vary!! If you would rather do this than the bus, then you might be best off booking a private shuttle, and you'll definitely know how much to budget for.

Might see you there. We are staying at the Explorers this weekend :cool1: .We tend to use a private shuttle. We are using RS transport this time. There is 7 of us and is costing 190 euros return.I think the more there is of you it works out cheaper than the VEA.

I'm another voter for RS Transport ! It cost us 180€ return for 6 of us and the service was fantastic. :thumbsup2

Hi,
I am planning a trip for next summer. There will be atleast 8 of us going (another 2 are still deciding, so could be a total of 10!). We would really love to have a full day trip to the city to see all the major tourist attractions. I know DLP offers the bus tour by citirama and I have done it two years ago. However, I prefer to hire a minivan/bus this time for the full day so that we can choose the tourist attractions that we want to see. The cityrama tour was great but only had a stop at the eifel tower and a cruise. We want more flexibilty and be able to stop at other places to take photos etc. Does anyone knows a good company in offering such services? What is the RS all about?? Do they have a website?
One more question.. I know is not going to be relevant for this topic but please bear with me.
We are planning to do 5d/4n. Will that be enough?? or should we go for 6d/5n?? Considering we will want a full day visit to the city, i am just afraid that we might not have enough time to spend at DLP if only doing 5d/4n. only 3 ouf of 8 of us have been to DLP. Hence, i am worried that there isn't enough time to explore for those who have not been to DLP.

Hi

Thanks for the RS Transports link and advice - we have now booked them and I feel much more relaxed about the whole transfer now!! :cool1:

Excellent!! :) Please let us know how you like them. Thanks to the recommendations of them on this board, we're also using them for the first time, for our upcoming trip.

I'm using them on monday! 70EURO's each way isn't bad. For 3 of us it only works out at £3 more (each) than the VEA. Well worth it to have it waiting for us on arrival. I like the idea of a guy holding a sign with my name on it. I'll feel like a movie star! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Just out of intrest; does everyone tip the driver? If so how much? Don't want to look like a cheap-skate!

Tentatively planning our next trip, as it looks likely it's just me and the kids I want to make it as simple as possible.

Do RSTransports really have a driver waiting for you with a name plaque at the airport and is that just the "standard" service or the "door to door". Do they then collect you from Reception at the hotel for the return journey.

Thanks in advance. :thumbsup2

We've only flown once before and the whole experience was somewhat dampened by a coach driver's strike in France, which left us waiting in freezing sleet for several hours for the shuttle - it kindof put me off flying again but as I don't relish the drive for the Eurostar it's probably the lesser of 2 evils this time.

We used RS in March (and plan to next March), E70 each way, and yes, there was a driver waiting in arrivals with our name on a plaque! Heaven, particulary when he spoke perfect English, although we did attempt to converse in pretty poor French :) On the day we arrived there had been a problem with several of the VEA buses and the queue at the airport was terrible - as our driver smugly pointed out :cool1:
On the the return trip we were collected from reception in the hotel. Both trips took about half an hour. We gave each driver E5 - I haven't a clue if this was too much or not enough! Hope this helps.

Thanks NMM that info. is a really big help, for the nominal extra expense it sounds just the ticket. :thumbsup2

I just booked with RS and the quoted me €75 ( we are 4 )..strange since on the web site it said €70. :confused3 I sent them an email, but I still have not heard from them .

I seem to recall reading something about the price being 75 euros - when, as you say, it still says 70 euros on the website. But we still seem to be paying 70 each way anyway, as we are paying 140 return, which is presumably some sort of discount :confused3

If you don't get a reply to your email soon, just send it again. Sometimes they didn't reply to my emails, and other times they were very prompt!

Hi,
We did it the other way with a 2 hour tour in Paris it was worth every penny, saw 80% of the sites...worth 175 euros, its 100 euros from CDG to Disney, the company is www.rstransports.com and I would HIGHLY recommend them!
