Hi. I am new to the forum so I apologize if this has been asked hundreds or thousands of times already. I have 11 points banked from my 2015 (December) use year at AKL Kidani Village. If I have read correctly, since they are banked points they cannot be transferred/sold to another member? I don't want to lose the value of them and I will not be going to WDW or DLR before December 1. Any suggestions or creative ideas on how to use them? Or am I wrong and I can transfer/sell them to someone? Thanks for any input or ideas you may have. RIP Marty-thanks for helping to create so much magic.

Banked points cannot be transferred. You could buy up to 24 one time use points to add to those 11 points in order to make a reservation. If you have friends or family traveling to FL before the points expire, you could make a reservation for them (assuming that there are villas available) or you could take a short trip yourself.

You can not transfer them but you can make a reservation using those points for someone else. They would remain"yours" but not be used by you. The check out date must be before or on the last day use I believe.

If you book today or tomorrow**, you could see if there is anything in the Concierge Collection near to home. Perhaps a long weekend trip? I am assuming that you bought your points directly from Disney or purchased via resale prior to April 4, 2016, as that option isn't available to resale contracts purchased after 4/4/16. You may need to borrow / purchase additional points to get enough, though.

** To use one of the Disney Concierge Collection options during the last 4 months of your use year, you must reserve it prior to the end of the 8th month of your use year. With a December use year, the deadline to make the reservation would be July 31.

Actually, the inability to use the Concierge Collection was put in place for those who purchased resale after March 21, 2011.

My mistake. Thanks for correcting the misinformation. :)

Thank you all for the help. We have been members since 2009, purchased through Disney, and this is the first time this situation has come up for us. I appreciate the great information.

Can points go into RCI? I have heard of this avenue but i honestly know nothing about it. I would imagine that you would need to have a significant number of points to actually book something with RCI.

RCI has couple of options- the usual 1 week reservation where there is a fixed amount of points for a 1 vs 2 bdrm and depending on high vs low season. We are now able to do shorter stays as well through RCI although I have never done this as the point exchange and having to still pay the $95 fee didn't seem better than just paying cash for a hotel when I've looked in years past.
You can deposit banked points into RCI to use later (I believe we still have 2 years to use them) and I recently posed this question to Member Services who told me this would be done until 2 months prior to the points expiring.
