Transferring Points

Some will pay 50% before the transfer and 50% afterwards so everyone is placed at risk. Most will not transfer the points until full payment has been made.

Depending on what you know of the other person, either can work. I'd certainly suggest that both parties do their due diligence before entering into any transaction.

On another note, the DIS has NEVER had a complaint about a failed transfer transaction.

I transferred points into my account from another member. I paid 1/2 up front, the other half paid after the transfer was made. This was done through pay pal. She showed me a copy of her dvc member page showing she had the points in her account and available. I'm not saying this was still 100% risk free, but I felt comfortable with the situation and it worked out fine.

How do I get the points in their account without know their account number.

MS now requires the membership number so the transferree will need to provide that. If yo think about it, no one can still do anything with just the member number unless they also know other pertinent information. Originally, MS would look up the other member's account based on name and address, but they stopped allowing that awhile ago.
