Transferring points questions?

Hello, I have a friend wanting to make a DVC booking for December 2022. In order to make the reservation I am wanting to transfer some of my points to her.

I’ve read that these need to be current UY points. My first question is - my UY is December, does that mean I can transfer December 2022 points to her as that is the year of the booking? Or can I only transfer December 2021 points now as that is my actual current UY today?

Secondly, I see you can only do one transfer per year - I own points at two resorts under one membership as they are both Dec UY. Can I make one transfer per each resort or just one overall?

I believe you can transfer the points from your Dec. 22 if they are not borrowed or banked. You could also transfer Dec 21 points (again not borrowed or banked) and your friend could bank them. It is 1 transfer per UY per membership.

FYI, I've never done a transfer so if my info is incorrect I hope someone will correct me.

You can transfer your 2021 and your 2022 UY points today. Those points can not be in banked or borrowed status.

You get one in or out of your UY. It doesn’t matter the number of contracts..it’s a single transaction.

So, you can transfer her the 2022 UY points and it counts as both of your 2022 transfer. You can send her points from one contract or some from each, but it has to be done at the same time and can only go to her. You couldn’t do that to two different owners.

If you transfer the 2021 points to her, she would need to bank them to use, which she is allowed to do once she gets them from you.

And they require a 3 way call now so both of you will need to be on the line.

Also, no matter what she owns or UY, your points stay Dec UY points and stay with your home resort and follow the same rules.
