Transferring Points Question

A friend of mine owns at BCV. We own BLT. He wants to help us out by booking us a ressie using his 11 month window at BCV. We would then transfer the same # of our BLT points to him because the ressie he needs to book is already inside 7 months, so home resort doesn't matter.

Here is my question: We have a June UY, and have banked all of our remaining '10 points. The ressie he needs to make is for May '11, which is in our '10 UY. If I transfer him '11 UY points, will he be allowed to borrow them for his May ressie? Thanks in advance for the help.

Transferred points retain their use year and resort. They can be banked, but they cannot be borrowed.

So if your 2011 UY starts after May 2011, he wouldn't be able to use them.

Ugh, that's a bummer. I knew transferred points could be banked (as long as it was within the banking window, of course) so I though perhaps they could be borrowed, too. Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately he's booking a big family trip, so he'll be using a lot more points. That's why I thought I could transfer him the same # that I would use for the BC ressie (58) and he could use those for part of his ressie.

I think we'll be ok booking at 7 months, though. We need only 3 nights in mid-August, Saturday-Tuesday, in a studio at BCV. Cross your fingers for me!!
