Transferring points Help

I posted yesterday about my dilemma on how to plan a vacation for date removed based on my points. However, I realized I wasn't thinking clearly because my son will be 3 then and will no longer be in a crib so we will have 5 people not 4 and the studios and 1 br at resort removed will not accomodate 5. So now I am back to trying to figure out what to do. We either have to upgrade to a villa size removedat resort removed because of the sleeper chair. So my dilemma is then what do I book at 11 months out? And will there really be anyone renting points out at the 11 month mark do you think? I can book around date removed but I only have ** points and will need to transfer in more to book anything. Help!! I don't know what I should do.

i just read that a 1 br can "unofficially" hold 5 so maybe I will get the 1 br at ** at 11 months and then try to switch at 7 months. But has anyone been able to find points to transfer at 11 months out? I am wondering if this is realistic or not.

You should be able to find points that far out. Remember, you just need points that will be valid for the time of travel.

We did a transfer in May for June 2012 UY points and it was not an issue whatsoever.

Since you are traveling in **, you simply want to find points that will work then. You could get *** points and then bank them. They would all be good for ** travel.

Lots of options. And yes, you can unofficially put that 5th person in the other 1 bedrooms--just bring along an air mattress and sheets as they won't provide the bedding for the extra person.

I thought you can't bank transferred points, and to use, they had to be the same use date to book at the 11month?????

Will they let you put 5 names on the reservation? Especially if it's unofficial???

They will put 5 names on the reservation. You will only have towels and sleeping for 4.

Transferred pts can be banked. They don't have to be the same use yr as yours but they have to come from the resort that you want to reserve at 11 months.

Nope, you can get points transferred into your account from any UY and any resort.

Those points continue though to follow their own rules. So the banking window is based on the UY of the points and not your membership (if it is different).

They won't usually show up online so you have to call MS to ensure they are there. I just got a transfer in May for points but they were the same resort and UY so I can see them when I log in to my account.

As far as using them, as mentioned, they only have to be the same resort and valid when you want to travel to book with them at the 11 month mark.

Now, I have read something that transferred points get used before other ones but not sure how that works since I have never used the points.
