Transferring luggage when not using ME?

We leave a week from Friday for 10 nights at the BC We prefer having a car rental while there (scored a great rate of $200, including all taxes & fees, for a full-size car for the whole trip through Thrifty). So that means we're not taking ME. Can we still put the tags on our checked luggage and have it delivered directly to our room at the resort? We will have a carry-on bag (or two) with anything we need that day. The only thing that might get in the way is DD's booster seat. I'm hoping we can carry it on the plane, though, since it's not a big, bulky one. I've just never used the tags or had my luggage handled for me when I'm not using ME. I'm thinking it's fine, but thought I'd double check with you knowledgable DISers. TIA!

According to the Disney rules - No someone Must ride DME for the bags to be transported.

We have rented a car before- Dh got the car and the kids and I rode DME so we didn't have to rent a larger car just for the luggage. We arrived with in 5 minutes of each other.
