We are planning a girls trip with 2 moms, 2 10 yr olds(both turning 11 while there), 5 yr old in late June. I can not find a resort that will fit us all for the whole week. We are considering staying 2 days at a Disney spring resort before transferring to POR. We are not renting a car.

What would the best way get the Disney spring resort from airport?
What is the best way to transfer to POR? This might be a park day to add to the fun.

When you say Disney Springs hotel, presumably you mean an off-site resort, correct?

The 5 year old makes it a little more challenging because he or she will need a booster seat if traveling by car (taxi cab or bus are exceptions). There are multiple private car/limo services that will transport you from MCO to the springs area hotels for $75-85 one way + gratuity (typically 20%). They provide booster seats if requested in advance.
Lyft/Uber runs in the $50+ range for a vehicle that can carry 5 passengers and several suitcases. Some days on the ride share app we have seen options for vehicles that can provide a child car seat. Other days we have not. You could also consider bringing along your own booster seat. Child car seats usually fly free as checked luggage, but verify with your specific airline.

If your resort offers shuttle to the parks, then one adult and the three kids could take that on resort move day while the other adult could Uber/Lyft /taxi with the luggage to POR.

Walk to DS - can bring a folding stroller on the boat
Then boat to POR
From the DIS website:
Transportation is offered daily from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m., every 20 minutes.

  • Yellow route - Sassagoula River Cruise goes to and from Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside from the Marketplace Dock.
  • Green route - services The Landing to and from Old Key West.
  • Blue route - services The Landing to and from Saratoga Springs Resort
  • Red route - Disney Springs Water Taxi at the West Side Dock, The Landing Dock and the Marketplace Dock. Route is West Side, Marketplace, and The Landing. This route is open until 1:00 a.m.
FROM the airport - there are private car services that also can do car seats
Happy Limo from their website
Can do 5 people and luggage = Mini Van
Got too much luggage for the sedan? or have more then 4 passengers? Don't worry, book this luxurious Toyota Sienna minivan & travel in comfort
The rate does not include charges for misc items for example child seats etc.

Aside from a taxi or unlicensed cab (Uber or Lyft), there are three other options for one-way transportation from the airport to the Disney Springs Hotels.

Shared Red Shuttle: Mears Transportation operates shared ride shuttles. Mears is the company that runs Disney's Magical Express service. They've been a Disney partner for decades, so they are reputable. Shared ride shuttles cost $24 for adults and $19 for children. For you party, that's $105. Shared ride shuttles may make stops prior to arriving at you hotel.

Private Vehicles: Mears also has private car service direct to your hotel form the airport. For a party of five, you need an SUV or van. One-way pricing is $98. (Obviously, that's the best option.)

The third option is a little outside the box. You might want to price a one-way rental between the airport and Disney Springs. Sometimes you can get a deal around $20 and other times it's over $100. It really just depends upon your dates. You will need to get gas prior to returning the car, but that's pretty easy as there's a gas station across from Disney Springs. You shouldn't need to pay for parking if you're just dropping off your family/luggage before returning the car.

The following rental car companies have locations at the various Disney Springs Hotels. All locations are within walking distance of all hotels.
  • Avis: Hilton Lake Buena Vista
  • Alamo/National: Hilton Buena Vista Palace
  • Dollar: Wyndham Lake Buena Vista
  • Hertz: Holiday Inn Disney Springs
  • Enterprise: B Resort and Spa
  • Budget: DoubleTree Suites
Now for moving to your Disney Resort, the easiest method will probably be via taxi. Maybe have one person accompany the luggage in a taxi. The Bell Services folks will be able to assist with luggage at both hotels. Whoever goes with the luggage can use Disney transportation to meet the rest of your party at whatever theme park you choose.

FYI: There are seven hotels next to Disney Springs that are located on Disney property but owned and operated by third-party companies. Collectively, they are known as the Disney Springs Hotels. Because they are on Disney property, most people do not consider them to be "off-site" resorts.
