Transferring a Resservation to a TA

Just booked our first cruise (YEAH!!) and made ressies for our own land portion at POP before the cruise and going back to POP hopefully for the MNSSHP next October. My question is... should I transfer them now to get the cash rebate or wait until later? Also trying to decide between DU and Small World. For those who have done this in the past what are the pros and cons of transferring and to which TA. Thanks in advance. :boat: :jumping2: :jumping3:

I have always dropped my ressies to our TA at AAA. That way, we were able to book on board, get the 10% and $200 credit, and then get the AAA bonus. Sometimes the mugs (when DCL used soda mugs), on board credit, or a Disney Magic framed made out of pins. Never used the two TA that you mentioned.

I was wondering the same thing. I think I will eventually turn my reservation over to a TA for the rebates but I'm not sure when or which TA.

I have held on to the ressie since May and like having "control" for now. I will eventually transfer it to either DU or All Seasons. I used All Seasons for my past cruise and they were great and I'm using DU for our upcoming WDW trip. Both are great so far and offer the same rebate based on cruise price prior to taxes and fees.

This may sound silly but I may go with All Seasons just because I think they give you a stateroom gift.

We like to book onboard and then transfer the reservation. You normally can get a little off the cost.

I will be sure to book our next cruise while onboard this one, but of course we have to get onboard this one first. Can't wait - so excited. So far away :sad2:

We booked onboard several weeks ago and so far the only price differences I see between the prebooking discount we got and the TAs (inluding TU) is about $200 and we currently have a $200 onboard credit we got from DCL for booking onboard so it is about even at this point. Would we lose that onboard credit if we turned this over to a TA? What other advantages are there?

Thanks,

kat

I think you can keep your onboard credit even when sitching to a TA. Others on here will be able to answer for sure.

You can keep your credits, and if you already have a TA, they will even put it in the agent's name for you when you book it on board.

You get to keep the onboard credit and also get whatever rebate the agency is offering.

I have used Small World and have been pleased so far

I can not rave enough about Dana at www.micdan.com I have saved so much $$ thru her, and her personality is the best! I have used her for 5 cruises now, and she has beaten my lowest quote, and I have kept my shipboard credit from DCL. When I first started cruising DCL I asked the same question, and got a variety of responses also. I shopped around with almost all the agents mentioned and Dana's was the lowest quote as well as the best "vibe". I am so glad I went with her back in 2002!

Tell me more...what's the All Seasons stateroom gift; can't resist a great "freebie"?

We received a DCL Bon Voyage memory box. We actually got 2 because we booked 2 connecting staterooms. My sister and brother got the same thing in their rooms from All Seasons. It was a nice surprise! :)
