Transfering points

We are currently planning on taking a trip for a few nights in July of 2019. We don’t have enough points for the accomodations we would like, so we were thinking about getting a friend of ours to transfer some of their points intp our account. They haven’t been using their points and have them banked. My question is, can they transer banked/borrowed points into our account? Sorry if this has already been asked or if I posted this in the wrong spot. Thank you in advance to anyone who has insight!

No, only points that have never been banked or borrowed can be transferred. But they could reserve a number of nights for you and then you could get the reservations linked together so you could stay in the same room. You'd have to check out and in again on the day it changed but it's the only way you can use those points.

Or, if you were using current points you could transfer into their account and have them make the reservation for you.

They would also have to be at your home resort to make reservation at 11 months.
