Transfering Disney e-card to magic band?

We are going to DW in about 5 weeks. I got a Disney e-card refund from my vacation account that they would not put on a hard card. The question I have is: is it possible to have that e-gift card put on my Magic band even thought the account is in my husbands name? I really appreciate your replies!

Nothing is ever "put onto" a Magic Band.
The MB actually accesses whatever funding you have arranged with your resort.

It may be possible to pay part of your resort bill by using your e-card.
If so, do that.

You don't put anything on your MB..it goes on your room account. Then, it is used when you use your MB.

I've never heard of pre-loading a room charge account with any gift card
(Room charging is what allows paying by Magic band)

Some do charge to the room, then pay off the room charge bill with gift card(s) before the resort bills the credit card.

If you have an old physical gift card, or if you go and buy one for a small amount, you can transfer the amount of the ecard to that card. I had forgotten that I started a DVA and had about 20 dollars in it. When they refunded the ecard, I just transferred that to the gift card I always keep.

I am going to guess that they will treat the ecard like a GC and they do not let you keep a GC on file. We always pay our room charges off with GCs, so what I do is stop by the desk every 2-3 days to payoff any balances due as well as the night before check out. I also get a print out so I can have a detail record of what we spent and also to make sure no erroneous charges are on our bill.

I have a question... so when you mean pay off your room balance, is that just the things you charge to your room? Isn't your room paid off a month in advance before your vacation?

To pay with a magic band you have to be staying on site. When you tap your band to pay it charges to your hotel room. So you buy a $4 water with your band, you'll see a $4 charge on your room bill.

It doesn't take out the money immediately. Certain Disney hotels have different thresholds. Idk the exact number but say Pop Century won't charge your card until you reach $300, Grand Floridian won't change until you reach $500. People with gift cards can go down to the lobby of the hotel and pay off what they owe (what they've bought with their magic bands) and use the gift card to pay instead of their credit card on file with the hotel.

Not to be dingy or anything but how do you transfer it? do you go on line or do it at a store?
