I will be going to WDW with a friend who weighs over 350 lbs. He uses a rollator at home and can do some stairs with a lot of effort. He travels to Vegas and enjoys going to concerts so is used to traveling and doing things with friends and family. He owns his own ECV which he will bring with him. I am an experienced scooter user at WDW but I can walk in most queues that require me to leave my scooter parked outside of the attraction as long as the wait is not too long.

Unfortunately, my friend will not be able to walk queues even with a rollator and Lightning Lane (which we will purchase). He will have to transfer to a wheelchair. There will be 5 adults with him so we can take turns pushing him through the queue so that's not a problem. My concern is that there be a wheelchair available that is big enough for him. Does anyone if there are usually wide wheelchairs available to transfer into?

If bigger wheelchairs are not available, can someone suggest something else? We will be at BWV in a HA 2-BR villa so can scoot to Epcot and DHS but we'll have to take the bus to the MK and AK. He may be meeting us in the parks as he's a late riser so he may be navigating transportation on his own.

FWIW, we will access his ability to get onto a ride later. I know that some attractions are are no-gos and others may be too small or difficult to get in and out of (like Pirates). We'll assess his strength and ability to do them before we go and again while we are there.

WDW site used to have a very handy list in simple format. They’ve changed it to a ‘filter system’ that is nowhere near as user friendly. IMHO at least.

Disney Rewards site put out a good article last year, that seems to still be current, and is similar to how WDW site used to have it listed.

“Guests musts transfer to a wheelchair provided at the attraction. The transfer may occur at the attraction entrance, inside the building or elsewhere in the queue.”

This doesn’t answer all your questions but thought seeing which attractions require ECV must transfer to wheelchair is a good place to start.

The list for the “attractions where Guests can remain in a wheelchair or Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) throughout the entire experience, including while queueing and riding” is much longer than list above.

Thanks @Genie+ !

I also mostly interested in the SIZE of the wheelchairs as my friend is very big/heavy.

FWIW, I also found this list below the one you copied from the link provided. I didn't see Space Mountain in your list so I knew there was more :).

Yes, Disney does have some larger WC's. Attractions where guests have to transfer to a larger WC will normally have at least one. This was part of the opening checklist when I was a park manager, making sure at least one (if not 2) of the transfer WC's were the wider ones. There's always a chance one is in use and you could have to wait. Check with a CM and they will do their best to get one for you to borrow through the queue.

I also am a large person. At Small World , although I fit in the wheelchair the cast member couldn't get it to move. It was like the wheels were locked. Finally I walked on the boat and she followed with the chair.
Most attractions you can get close to the ride vehicle before needing to transfer. One exception is Pirates.
